i personally didnt care for the McCain comments (but whatever), but those were not even remotely close to what is being alleged here.

Decades ago, McCain, or perhaps Jeremiah Denton, said he was not a hero for being a Vietnam POW and that he was a failure. Getting shot down was a failure, the real heroes got their planes back safely.
