High means nothing.

It is a subjective term that isn’t useful to anyone.

Oh everything on this board is so fricking useful.

quote:

Saying it is “high” is moronic.

Read the whole post that I wrote originally. It's a contagious virus that we knew very little about in the beginning and a lot of people died early on.

quote:

We don’t shut down for other viruses. We don’t shut down for the flu

No we don't. But we did when the flu virus started killing people during the early 20th century. When we get vaccines, we'll probably stop shutting down. What's so hard to understand?
quote:

Saying it has a high mortality rate is very subjective.

Exactly. Of all the batshit crazy things posted on this board, people cling to the one that goes against their belief.
I didn't say it's higher than the influenza virus or HIV or any other virus. I said it's high. I didn't say its higher than a certain percent. What's with you and comprehension?
quote:

How high is the mortality rate?

Tell me without googling.

Tell me without googling.

lol so I'm lying if I have to google the number? :rotflmao:
Present the facts then. What's with the middle school insults?
Not all viruses are the same. This particular coronavirus (COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus about which we didn't know much about before and scientists are still finding new things. It is highly contagious and has a high mortality rate. Washing your hands, maintaining distance and wearing masks help decrease its transmission rate. That's the science I believe in.

Most people on this board are like the ones who sang along Country Steve. No wonder few people here find him funny.
quote:

on what recent issues has the court leaned conservative?

Let me rephrase.
We are about to have a decisively conservative SC.
I'm assuming ACB is another conservative and will soon be on the bench.
I agree with you wholeheartedly on this. I think the republicans stuck to a strategy they identified a long time ago and the democrats kept losing focus, which is why we have a decisively conservative SC.

I am incredibly disappointed with the timing of RBG's death but if the democrats try to add the number of justices to the SC I'd be more disappointed. I'd rather they focus on legislation of progressive issues rather than expecting the courts to do it for them.

What did you watch? All I saw was Trump whining about getting tough questions.

quote:

You trying to compare a Borat skit to an actual crack smoking pedophile & actual corruption tells me all I need to know about you.

I'm not comparing the two cases. I'm surprised what an idiot Rudy is to be allowed to be fooled by Borat in 2020. The fact that he's the main man behind the Hunter Biden story makes me question his ability to distinguish what's real and what's fake.

Come on, Borat? In 2020? :rotflmao:
quote:

Hunter’s laptop is way more interesting than an old guy allegedly trying to get laid.

It is more interesting. I agree. Hence, I'll wait for a credible news source to back up the stories posted on this board.
quote:

The Borat shite has already been debunked.

By whom? I'll wait for the movie to make up my mind. But it sure is funny as hell that Rudy even agreed to an interview on a Borat movie :rotflmao:
quote:

Yeah. This completely negates Hunter sniffing coke off of a naked 14 year-old.

I'll wait for a credible news source to report that story :snoozer:
So Trump team's entire "October surprise" hinges on a man who got fooled by Borat? In 2020? :rotflmao:
The oil industry was at its recent peak when Obama was the president.

Oil industry, although gets short-term benefits from political volatility, in the long term depends on stability in global politics. Since Trump has taken office, he's waged trade wars, tried to imposed travel bans and maligned our trade/diplomatic allies.

Large E&P companies have a diverse group of people from all over the world and Trump's rhetoric against immigrants is off-putting for many in the industry.

Biden campaign has promised to not ban fracking, and even if they backtrack, they'd only ban it on federal lands which is a small fraction of current unconventional/frac plays. They can impose new regulations and make it harder though. That is the only reason O&G folks need to worry about a Biden presidency imo.

People in the oil industry have figured out that the industry will continue to shrink. So, they're acquiring skills that can be transferable to other industries. I'm saying this because I'm in the same position.

We know the enthusiasm is not there for Joe.

People are pissed.

Baton Rouge is a democrat city though. :usa:

They should both get asked a question then be allowed to answer it.

They did get the chance to answer them though. Perhaps the NBC moderator was tougher on Trump than the ABC one was on Biden. But that doesn't mean she was wrong in asking tough questions. And she had to interrupt Trump to make sure he answered the questions truthfully.
quote:

Biden is allowed to speak for 7 minutes uninterrupted by his moderator

Because Biden didn't need to be constantly brought back to the question by Stephanopoulos. Meanwhile, Trump did.

quote:

Because they are interviewing for the same job.

Except, one already has a job and the people who are in charge (voters) must decide whether he's done a good job so far. That can only be done by asking the tough questions.
