No one gives a damn about your portfolio. National policy is not meant to keep pumping up an artificial stock market

Which means very little
Will it be retroactive to first of year?
I am 100% for correcting the trade imbalance and on shoring more jobs/production.
But this big beautiful bull is taking too long. The Senate is going to jerk around with it to tweak it and high chance of not passing before summer break.
The republican controlled congress is failing, as usual. They are not aligned and seemingly without a strategy to get this done.
In which case all the negatives of tariffs with no positives!!!
Until it’s signed it hasn’t happened. Period. It’s almost June!!!

Cool another threat to rattle the market for a buy up and then reach a “deal” to bring it back to where it was thus increasing the value of said stocks

Separate deal from the EU deal, most likely. That brexit thing....
Yes.
The entire premise of the post to which I was responding was that Trump hadn’t signed any deals.
Which is why I posted a link explaining how he had in fact come to an agreement with a major trading partner.

Is this all so we can bring back more manufacturing a decade from now?
You mean the factories already being onshored as we speak per their own corporate press announcements?
Yes that’s part of it.
It’s also to increase revenues and lower relative trade imbalances as has been explained ad nauseam but which you continue to pretend you don’t understand because you don’t like the person doing it.
Sorry your friend has to wait to import his Audis but I simply don’t care given the larger stakes at play.

1. The on and off again is stupid they should stay on to a deal
2. We shouldn’t have to beg for a deal with nations we do so much for.
Cut them off back out of Ukraine tell them we feel disrespected they are on their own

Stands to reason that as he lined up a few key deals the pressure that would be applied to the remaining holdouts would skyrocket.
And here we are.
The "remaining holdouts" of then 2nd largest one we care about?

I know you guys laugh at any anecdotal evidence
I don’t. I have anecdotal evidence of my own, believe me. I am involved in industrial EPC projects ranging to well over $100 million. We source stuff from everywhere.
In my opinion we will see some manufacturing reshored, more will be built here rather than elsewhere. But mainly we will end with more favorable trade agreements, a quicker decoupling with China, and more secure critical supply chains. At least those are goals.
