Pre-islamic Arabs worshipped "Allah" as one of several deities in a polytheistic belief system. It wasn't until 700 AD that Allah became monotheistic under Islam.
In Judaism, YHWH or Yahweh was the name of God, which predates Islam by about 2200 years.

I enjoy discussing religions. I only “defend” Islam against erroneous statements made about it
As I said to another you are either moslim or waiting to be forced to submit. Sure you can be an atheist. Though, you are sold on Christianity being bad/false/whatever, but open to islam being fine.

But in Judaism, they followed the same pattern of polytheism to monotheism that Islam did, so the distinction has no real difference.
