Highland Park HS - Chicago

quote:

"If you tell a big enough lie, and you tell it often enough, it will be believed," the message, situated under a student’s photograph in Highland Park High School’s yearbook, reads.

The quote is certainly true. However, it could cause trauma...

quote:

Any act that disrupts the learning environment or makes our students feel unsafe is unacceptable and will not be tolerated."

So, the quote is not important. It's who says it.
Thus, the quote 'German shepherds are an intelligent and loyal breed' is OK.

However, 'German shepherds are an intelligent and loyal breed....A. Hitler, 1939' is not OK.

Isn't the point of using that quote to warn people to be vigilant? So another Hitler doesn't happen?

Nothing about that quote is offensive and just because Hitler said it doesn't make it offensive. I'm sure Hitler said he liked water too guess we better ban water from that school too

My god, this country is lost.

A true statement is a true statement regardless of who says it. WTF is wrong with these people?

If we just hold hands and think pure thoughts,

nothing bad will happen to us.

Not really.

Social Media, Hollywood and the Internet amplify a point of view that thankfully, most people don't share no matter how much the Left want you to believe otherwise.

I hope you're right. But this is the administration of a very upper class HS taking absurd action. If the primary function of HS administrators is to protect students from 'feeling unsafe' from harmless quotations then there will be consequences for our future as a nation.

Well, hell, it happened at another rich Chicago suburb.

Oak Park - River Forest

quote:

“We are concerned that the gesture will become more closely associated with White supremacy in the future. Publishing the photos in question could not only harm students today but could subject students to potentially a lifetime of questions or penalty from colleges, employers, etc,” said Superintendent Joylynn Pruitt-Adams.

Sounds like something Michael Scott would say. Yearbook entry should have been:

"If you tell a big enough lie, and you tell it often enough, it will be believed"
- A. Hitler

Eh, just because Hitler (or Goebbels- this quote has been attributed to him too) said it doesn’t make it any less true.

So he is being villified for describing the administration of the pride of Chicago, Barack Obama.
