I both support the military action in Iran, think the war in Ukraine is a money laundering color revolution Nuland and McCain et al... created---and think that Israel sucks.
I suspect there are a lot that feel this way.

Losing someone like Kent is a major moment and should be a warning about what Trump and this war are doing to his base.
A Director of National Counterterrorism who resigns over taking out one of the biggest sponsors of global terrorism is a warning about that director, and only that director.

11 combat deployments, including Fallujah.
I had to post that even though you’re just playing a character, for other posters’ knowledge.

This is a reasonable position. Even if you're not a fan of Israel, it makes no sense to be opposed to this action in Iran. Iran is clearly a much worse actor than Israel, in nearly every way.

That's a somewhat dubious claim IMO when Iran itself was claiming they had enough materials to put together 11 functional nuclear weapons
Iran says a lot of things. And most of those things are bullshite. And didn’t we “totally obliterate” their nuclear facilities like 7 months ago?? Or was that bullshite?

You clearly do not know who this guy is Clearly, I do. He's the former Director of National Counterterrorism who apparently wasn't aware of which nation is behind a metric ton of the world's, and yes, also our own, terrorist attacks.
He’s former special ops, CIA, combat veteran.
And his wife was killed by a suicide bomber.
He knows more than you.

I do not support the military action and think Israel has lost it's damn mind. I believe there are many people who agree with that statement (outside of this neocon board).

Clearly, he doesn't know enough, because he resigned over eliminating a major source of terrorism throughout the world and here in the USA. If he is remembered in history books, he will be remembered for making a stupid decision.

IDK.
We’ll see in about 8 months.

I respect his decision, if you don't support the Commander and Chief, do the honorable thing and resign.

I've listened to Joe Kent speak on a myriad of political topics and really believed he had a great future in the America First/MAGA movement. I guess the scars of war suffered by Kent himself coupled with his wife dying for the US was too much for Kent to bear. It's understandable why he feels the way he does but I wish he would have stuck it out and used his past military experience to help shape future military decisions. We thank you for your service Mr Kent
thanks for this insight. I will defer to your experience with him
I would prefer, and do prefer, those serving at the pleasure of this admin (or any admin) just present their resignation rather than publicly air their laundry.
I expect he had an opportunity to say the same things internally. I don't see the value to posting this publicly.

Its not done yet - we'll see what Iran looks like after this is over - see if they actually get it done and can or just leave some kind of fractured state run by remains of the regime
Also Saudi Arabia is also a major source of terroism

Sounds like he got paid off by the libs.

the honorable thing is to do what you just said.
The "less" honorable thing is to air your views that are in opposition to the admin you serve publicly.
In my opinion.

Nothing but truth in his letter.
Posted on 3/17/26 at 9:39 am to TheGeauxt9
Glad he's outed from this administration. Even if I didn't like something on this level I would find my way to another position without burning down the whole thing when I leave.

He voted for George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004 before shifting his political beliefs towards libertarianism, supporting Ron Paul.[8] According to voting records, he was registered with the Libertarian Party in the 2012 presidential election until 2019, when he became a Democrat; Kent voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2020 Democratic Party
You copied and pasted that from Wikipedia but you cut out an important part…
quote:
Kent voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries in order to support Republicans in that year's presidential election.[44]
Not surprising. I did the same in Georgia because Crazy Bernie was weak national candidate.

He disagreed with his Boss, and did the right thing, id. That is honorable, as I think he is. He should be able to state the basis of his disagreement as he walks out the door. He earned that much with his resume.
