I’m not really sure what the need for two agencies with overlapping missions accomplishes.. doesn’t mean that the atf couldn’t be rebranded as an agency with a more focused narrow mission.

Trump 45/47 named Kash Patel as the acting director of the ATF. One person leading both agencies has never happened before.

Not a friendly venue, being drunks and all.

But for real, that is somewhat surprising.

ATF

It’s a pretty redundant agency on the firearms side and we don’t need major regulation of alcohol and tobacco anymore. Be best to scrap it

The ATF needs to be reigned in. They were never meant to be a regulatory agency on legal firearms. They were supposed to be an enforcement agency against organized crime that trafficked illegal booze, tobacco, and firearms

I find it redundant to lump guns in with tobacco and alcohol. One is a constitutional right to own and use, the other two are personal vices and use or purchase of them are not a right.

Probably a move to shut down the ATF.

I have a name almost this common and I get delayed on fricking everything, basic shite, like a bolt action 22, 6 week fricking hold. "You have a common name so it automatically gets escalated to a human to research because we don't trust the system" is not an answer that complies with the Constitution of the United States of America.

ATF should be the very first agency eliminated.

I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but it needs to be said until everyone actually understands. The 2A doesn’t bestow any rights upon the people. The 2A plainly states that the government shall not infringe the right of the people, which is why any and all gun laws are repugnant to the Constitution. Marbury v. Madison tells us that all laws repugnant to the Constitution are null and void. We have been accepting tyranny regarding guns for a hundred years now.

Well apparently they can’t even dedupe SSNs at the federal level so the name issue checks out.

I have a similar issue due to being named after an uncle, who is now deceased.
Mine is delayed every single time I make a purchase.
You can apply for a UPIN ID. https://www.nationalguntrusts.com/blogs/nfa-gun-trust-atf-information-database-blog/what-is-a-upin
I myself don't trust them enough for me to do so, however. But the UPIN will significantly increase approval time, and decrease "Delayed" responses, from what I'm told.
