Did Musk get played or is this just another lapse in judgment by Trump?

I'm willing to accept other options but these seem to be the most viable

A lot of people predicted that this relationship would eventually run its course. It's tough to believe that neither Trump nor Elon saw this coming.

I'm thinking Trump completely played him for a fool.

I really believe that Elon is sincere about the changes he wants. I think he greatly underestimated the Swamp’s political machine, much like Trump did in his first term.

Elon got played. He believed Trump and Republicans were actually in favor of fiscal responsibility and keeping campaign promises and other promises about reducing spending and debt.

He was wrong. Bigly.

Republicans are no different than Democrats.

I knew this was going to happen when I saw Musk jump on the Trump train. It just took longer than I expected.
Musk needed Trump to get elected to keep from being ruined by the democratic government.
Trump was very happy to put up with Elon as long as he was donating millions of dollars to his campaign.

Elon was there in Trumps first term, he stormed out in a hissy fit in June 2017 and the two of them did this same bullshite then, the only thing different was the Epstein stuff from Elon this time around. But otherwise this shite is exactly the same as last time

Elon's Twitter barrage was very first-term Trump-like, and his lack of self control during that should be concerning.

I think a couple of children should probably have their phones taken away for a few days.

When the leader of the free world and the richest man on the planet have a public war of words that reads something like what you see on this board on a daily basis, it isn't good for anyone.

This. I’d say Trump didn’t help by attacking Elon, then Elon began shiteposting. If Trump could handle criticism this doesn’t happen

No, there is a big difference.

Democrats play the long game - hence the growth of government.

Too many Republicans want instant gratification - hence they cry over a bill that only reduces spending $150 billion a year instead of fighting a losing battle demanding a $2 trillion cut. It is the conservative version of virtue signaling.

I suspect Musk had a breakdown. It went public. I hope he gets well.

There is currently no such bill.

If you’re mistakenly referencing the Big, Beautiful, Wasteful, Liberal, Big-Spending, Big-Debt-Increasing Bill, there it does NOT cut spending- not even by a penny. It reduces the rate of the future growth of spending… which is still actually a spending increase.

Fiscally, there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Not much difference, this is why I like Rand Paul and Massie when they talk about budget numbers

Trump is doing what he thinks he can get passed- his focus is mainly tax cuts remain and stimulate the economy...

He didn't fight for these cuts IMHO....he in a way is trying with Tarriffs to raise money

when you decribe a 1100 page bill as big and beautiful, well, -that's a sales pitch to hide the bad news
