I was going to ask this as well.
I walked in while it was already underway and when I started watching he was mumbling something for a couple seconds, then went quiet and finally came back and mumbled something about he needed to clear his mind so he didn't say something he'd regret. At least I think that's what was supposed to be happening. Was weird for sure.

Yep he's done this multiple times. Just last week when talking about Trump's Russia comment he went blank then tried to play it off as he had to stop talking because he was about to get all badass on Trump. He's done this other times and played it off as getting emotional, like when he was talking about Beau's memorial and said "Our Lady of.........anyway"
