I don't think any GOP candidate other than Jesus Christ himself (and his party affiliation is debatable) could deal with that tsunami.

On the flip side, Gavin is making a similar risk by trying to follow Biden. He may kill his shot, in a similar way.

That's not what we thought in 2014 or so.

Can you give me an explanation of what you think Trump should/could have done to prevent states from breaking the law by illegally changing voting laws, making up millions of "mail in ballots," and all the other shenanigans that went on? Particularly when courts refused to rule or didn't rule on lawsuits until after the election was over? Should he have declared martial law? Sent the military in to take over Philly polling stations?

Just trying to find out what Trump's recourse was for state governors, SOSs, and legislatures who blatantly and knowingly violated their own state laws?

Or he locks up Trump’s endorsement in 2028

Hopefully Trump makes a move shortly after the midterms and DeSantis can evaluate further.

As someone who thinks DeSantis is the better choice, I don't want him to make a big public show of not running to clear way for Trump only to have Trump announce and struggle, etc.

So all Trump had to do was stop a fraction of the fraud and he was over every agency that could do so, didn’t, and now you want to give him a shot without those advantages?

You have TDS

Yeah... I mean, that's the one name anyone comes up with for 2024. And he obviously feels the same way himself.

And yet more people are LEAVING California than moving there.

The ads Trump will run against Newsome and the way he will hit him will be brutal.

Can you please give me ANY current Dem that would have a shot at winning a national election in 2024 or 2028?

Biden is an insanely terrible candidate. He beat Trump in 2020. There are plenty better than Biden.

Look at this conspiracy theorist still believing Joe Biden received 81 trillion legitimate votes.

Again. Why will 2028 be any different?

It's weird how you actually believe that to be true.

Not if he solidifies his reputation and credibility with 4 more years of strong leadership in Florida as governor.
It should sharpen his political accumen in preparation for 2028.

I will agree with you only if the GOP doesn't have a big midterm, b/c it seems pretty SOP right now.

A president not being elected to a 2nd term (under the claim of election fraud)...then having the other side fail miserably, only to be elected to a 2nd term 4 years later is anything but SOP.

Your TDS is showing. This is pure wishcasting.

Whatever fraudulent conditions that you believe existed in 2020 will exist in 2028, too.

This has always been the plan. Trump will massacre anyone who even thinks of getting in. Cruz, Pence, Tim Scott too - they'll all get out of the way. Just ask "Lyin' Ted" or "Little Marco."

Without Covid, Trump is in his 2nd term.

Covid disrupted everything, but things seem to be returning to more normal political science conditions (see: midterms)

Look at all the people who ran against Trump in 2016 and where their national profile is today. It's the same 6-years RDS would be waiting (and that's assuming he had a shot in 2028 which would be difficult following Trump).

If we are really hanging out hat on historic precedence as governing, wouldn’t this just as likely present a cautionary tale for him to consider NOT RUNNING at this juncture?
