Yeah, he let it slip in this thread.
He has the TDS. It explains his illogical and emotional arguments over the last 1-2 years.
People are so weak minded.

I will agree with you only if the GOP doesn't have a big midterm, b/c it seems pretty SOP right now.

DeSantis would have to go scorched earth to take on Trump and even then he still might not beat him.
DeSantis isn’t willing to do that. Simple as that.
And Trump may not run in 24. So this could be moot.

Uh, then you have a very weird/expansive definition of TDS

Such an ignorant comment.
Avid Trump and Desantis supporters like myself have been saying this all along. It makes zero political sense for Desantis to challenge Trump if Trump runs.

This is the wildcard seemingly NOBODY wants to consider.

OK, I was wrong earlier. This is the other way RDS can avoid the hit time would take on his national profile.

If that’s the case he should be Trumps VP if Trump runs.
Those two would win* bigly.
*Subject to election fraud by the democrats.

Hoping for Rand Paul vs Trump

It makes 0 sense for DeSantis to run in 2024.
He is going to cruise to reelection in Florida, and in the next 2 years, continue to increase his national profile, name recognition, and bona fides with conservatives/MAGA folks.
His term ends at the midterms in 2026, which will be right when everyone is starting to declare intentions for 2028, and it gives him two years to both support President Trump in the background, while also running for the presidency.
He gets the additional minor political benefit of saying, "See, I'm not politically motivated, I served out my term as governor in Florida and I'm doing this to continue President Trump's MAGA legacy."

well, if he plays his cards right, he may wind up being as popular of a Governor as your hero Jeb Bush

Trump should be Ron’s VP. Or maybe his press secretary.

There's always some new bright star coming along. I remember when Mitch Daniels was pushed and then forgotten in a short time span.

Exactly. Desantis 2028 & 2032.

The issue has always been that this has a very high chance of closing the door on RDS as a national political candidate.
Look at all the people who ran against Trump in 2016 and where their national profile is today. It's the same 6-years RDS would be waiting (and that's assuming he had a shot in 2028 which would be difficult following Trump).
Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, John Kasich, Ben Carson, Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, Mike Huckabee, Carly Fiorina, Chris Christie, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, Scott Walker, and the guy Clay Higgins stole his style from, Rick Perry.
Which in that list do you think would have a shot in 2024 if Trump didn't run?
