“There will be no consideration of anything related to NBC Universal or its affiliates until and at least Andrea Mitchell corrects the blatant lie she made about the governor… and NBC and its affiliates display a consistent track record of truthful reporting,” DeSantis’s press secretary, Bryan Griffin, said in a statement. NBC and its affiliates also need to “display a consistent track record of truthful reporting,” Griffin added.

quote:

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took an unusual step on Wednesday, informing NBC and MSNBC that he will ignore them until he receives an apology for being falsely accused of racism.

quote:

During an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, which aired on ‘MSNBC Reports’ last week, Mitchell claimed DeSantis “says that slavery and the aftermath of slavery should not be taught to Florida schoolchildren” and accused him of being ignorant of “Black history and the Black experience.”

quote:

So far, according to the governor’s office, neither Mitchell nor her network have apologized or retracted the false claim.

quote:

First elected in 2018, after a term in US Congress, DeSantis gained prominence during the Covid-19 pandemic by pushing back on lockdowns and mandates and declaring Florida would be a free state and not a “biomedical security” one. Since then, he has also sought to ban what he dubbed racial and gender indoctrination programs, drawing denunciations from Democrats. His parental rights bill banning the promotion of gender identity to preschoolers was denounced by Democrats as “Don’t Say Gay,” a label then picked up by most US media outlets. Earlier this week, the National Public Radio criticized DeSantis for banning “gender-affirming” procedures, using an example of a 13-year-old who wanted puberty blockers. Speaking for the governor, Griffin denounced NPR as a “publicly funded propaganda machine” and said Florida refuses to “bow to a radical minority” and intends to “stand for protecting our children and protecting their innocence.”

quote:

Though DeSantis has not announced his intent to run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, a faction within the party has argued for him as an alternative to former president Donald Trump.

Love the way this dude and Trump both handle bidness. Completely different styles but get the same results.

Meanwhile, Trump gives access to Haberman, Woodward, and Axios, then wonders what happened when they make him look bad.

Meh, I predict that nothing will happen.

Good for him though.

The media are far left of center and should be called out more often.

I assume that MSNBC wanted to fire Mitchell's arse a long time ago, but were scared of her husband's connections fricking with them. She's gonna be in her late 90s and still be at MSNBC.

The sad part is, 100% of Democrats believe that's what Republicans are talking about when we denounce CRT.

This is the network that didn’t fire Brian Williams because it has zero respect for the intelligence of the average American. Why would it consider doing anything regarding Andrea Mitchell?

I am with you in that I wish Trump didn’t trust these people. But I also know that when trump was president, things were good.

This is a double edged sword. Some folks might take the view that Trump is too forward and gets burned because of it sometimes, while others might view this type of thing with NBC et al as crafting reasons or excuses to serve as justification to sidestep unfriendly, uncomfortable and oftentimes unpredictable exchanges with adversarial parties. (**potential excuses to avoid adversarial and unpredictable interactions, might be a little easier way for me to put it.) And I’m not taking any position here, just pointing out potentially unfavorable scenarios for both.

When you think about it, it just makes you think.

Analogous to your posts here. You’re an obvious paid shill incapable of neutrality.

I won't lie, Trump going to East Palestine was absolutely badass. That's why we love him. But DeSantis knows how to play the game, and if he's the nominee he will slaughter any 75 IQ candidates the Democrats run. Please back DeSantis Trump
