It passed the 341 votes in the House. It is "veto proof". By design.

Then make the GOP do it. Be ause this only gets 341 votes if about 130 Republicans vote for it.

They might be all full of beans now, but I dont know if they'd all be willing to vote that way over Trump's veto with primaries coming up.

Do you give a shite when it's not "Trump's fault"?

The GOP has grown government as much as any leftist up until now.

It’s the long game. Pass this stuff now and after retaining a majority at the midterms, a bunch of cuts will be coming. /s

I had hope Trump would lead a major crusade to legitimately cut spending. He has not. He's proposed even more spending (see: comments about military budget).

But, more importantly, my comment was to someone trying to separate Trump from Congress, so that only Congress gets blame. That's ridiculous, as I pointed out.

"Again" implies there was a first time.

Good for him for getting something right eventually.

You just do the opposite.

No one is ever going to cut spending... not as long as it costs millions upon millions to run a competitive national campaign. If your point is to say Trump is no better on that point, no shite. Trump has never been a fiscal conservative. There isn't a true fiscal conservative anywhere in Washington D.C. and there hasn't been one since Calvin Coolidge. But it's Congress who is in charge of spending legislation, not Trump. But you play your game. It's one note, but I guess it entertains you.

Respect your presidential history game. History doesn’t treat him kindly because he didn’t believe the US could spend their way out of every problem.

MAGA doesn't know how to win outside of an election every 8 years. Increasingly, they distorted way that MAGA thinks society works seems to be as far away from reality as what the commie progs think in regards to how things should work.

Let me explain...there are not enough MAGA votes to simply do away with it and the POTUS is not constitutionally empowered to dictate it away. They can cut it and shrink it and control it until they get enough MAGA votes to actually kill it. To do that MAGA needs to expand it's base but what I'm seeing it's fracturing and shrinking.

Of course. They have no intention of killing the DoE because they love flexing its power. Even this admin has relied heavily on the power and leverage of the DoE.

Trump ran on cutting $2T in spending via DOGE in case you forgot.

If we should be admonished for hoping we'd accomplish at least some meaningful reduction in spending because of that promise, admonish us.
