Was Mr Keltner also carrying and was the shooter attempting to disarm him, rather than grab the cab of mace? There appears to be an object inside victim’s vest on his left side. Saw this theory floated yesterday on the chans or theDonald, can’t remember exactly where now. It was reported that police recovered two firearms from the scene.

Highly doubt the assailant was grabbing for any gun as that would have been a lethal escalation that would have warranted drawing said gun on part of the victim, but the victim may have really not wanted to escalate further and avoiding pulling any gun, I guess

It DOES certainly seem to negate the notion that Dolloff was attempting to take the gas sprayer from Keltner.

Oh boy. So soy bitch wasn't trying to take biker bro's mace. He got slapped for intervening.

Definitely looks like he got slapped for laying hands on someone. Deserved.

Bitch got bitch slapped and killed a man because he’s a bitch. Sad.

Good gosh, you’re a tool

Dolloff, his LLC, Pinkerton and 9News are all in for a very unpleasant 2021.

It looks like maybe the reporter said something that annoyed Keltner, Dolloff stepped between them, and Keltner hit him for it.
OR it looks like Doloff initiated first physical contact while victim’s mace hand is at his side and free hand is outstretched. Keltner’s feet are planted, non-lethal weapon is not engaged, free hand appears to be open palm, not a fist. Doloff’s hat and glasses are still in place so this is before he was slapped. Why is he initiating physical contact?
In every picture and video I’ve seen thus far, it looks like Keltner was making a concerted effort to keep the mace/pepper spray at his side until he was drawn on.

Again why are those two in the proximity of the victim, considering the victim walked to that location before the shooting.

One issue that we have not addressed is the burden of proof on an affirmative defense.
In some states, the DEFENDANT has the burden of convincing the jury of the elements of his defense, beyond a reasonable doubt (BRD). In other states, the STATE has the burden of DISPROVING the elements of a Defendant's affirmative defense, BRD.
Colorado seems to fall into the latter category.
If the Defendant had the burden, Dolloff would probably be in big trouble here. But he doesn't. The State has the burden, and BRD is a tough row to hoe especially where he sequence is as ambiguous as this one seems to be.
"Patriot" homers will likely see it differently.

You, of course, are totally immune to the effects of bias and homerism.

Dolloff was escorting a reporter. Kelton had JUST walked away from a loud and profane confrontation with the BLM guy, and it seems that the reporter was trying to get comment from him about that confrontation.
For whatever reason, Kelton was not in a talkative mood and hit/slapped Dolloff for stepping between him and the reporter (and, yes, placing hands on him in the process). Things went downhill from there.

But three years of law school tends to (at a minimum) make you aware of it and trains you to ignore it.

Three years of law school also trains you to argue losing cases for the sake of arguing.
