There's our first ostrich...

You're ignoring that many voters are looking at their 401(k) balances and seeing that they've lost all of the gains that they had since the election.

The only people that have a right to criticize Pressler are the one's out there getting out the vote. People whose contribution consists of posting online have no place to talk.

CNN / NBC / Rasmussen have democrat approval under 30%. The direction of the country has gone from 25% approval after the election to 49% for Trump. All polling even by totally liberal organizations favor Trump and show liberals in disarray.

This was a special election most people probably didn't even know it happened issue. Not some precursor of things to come.

Pretty bad bellweather for midterms for the GOP

I think we get slaughtered. DOGE has hurt Trump

People liked the idea of spending cuts but when it comes down to it they hate it because they always want it to affect someone else and not them. It’s unfortunate but true and that’s why we are in this mess. Few have the conviction to support cuts even if it affects them personally

Anyone who refuses to believe that some Republican voters are disenchanted with how Trump's administration is handling issues is just burying their heads in the sand to avoid reality.

With so many districts being near 50-50 it doesn't take much to swing from Red to Blue.

My concern as well.

Or maybe voters are growing tired of the chaos in the White House.

This was a state senate election. Not the US House. Excuse me if I don’t give a frick.

If people are freaking out about their 401k after a 10% pullback in the S&P they are fricking idiots. They S&P went down 25% in 2022. The market was extremely overbought in 2023 and 2024 because of money printing and the AI boom.

Yes. It's terrible all the $ being saved/recovered. Seeing federal employees who have been sucking at taxpayer tit suffer the same fate as private sector employees is certainly disheartening. It's certainly enough to make people forget what a shitshow the last 4 years were.

You don't think any of the Fed layoffs impacted Republicans? Do you think it was all Dems/Libs?

Don’t forget that Trump pulls voters from dems too. So the 15% that he won by most definitely included disaffected dems. Without him on the ballot that will take a toll. If the Rs aren’t fully engaged and the Ds are it won’t take much to flip a district.

What are the issues you suspect Trump is handling differently than people who voted for him may have wanted, such that you believe they are now so disenchanted just three months into his tenure that they are casting cross party votes in random state elections?
