You are being illogical assuming citizens would "always be forced to carry an ID". People wouldn't be forced to carry one, but would be required to provide ID for certain actions like voting, buying a gun, buying beer.
but nah...using your illogical nonsense, I should just be able to provide my name and address to prove that I can buy alcohol.

Why would anyone not want to have an ID?

Why would they need to know who I am? Why carry IDs? Do you also support a facial recognition database or require tracking devices implanted at birth?
so they know who they just arrested and how many times he been arrested before.
“Hey, didn’t we arrest that Bill guy just last week?”
“nah, that guy’s name was Dave”
“but they have same fingerprints?”
“i know but he said his name was Bill. Dude last week said his name was Dave. completely different dudes. they even told me different last 4 of their socials”

They shouldn't be required to carry an ID. But obviously they should be required to provide (eta: this was supposed to say, "prove") their identity, to vote. And there is nothing that prohibits the polling places (and the bodies that govern them) from implementing a logical, efficient and uniformly applied system regarding the types of identification they will accept.
I understand removing literacy and property-ownership voting requirements. But if you can't procure a photo ID, especially given all of the registration drives and bussing that goes on, then you don't deserve to vote.
And if you don't bother to learn English, then i shouldn't have to pay to have shite translated for you, in order for you to vote "informed."

Why should anyone be required to carry an ID?

This is kinda silly. Aren't People's names are spelled the same in english/spanish/other languages although they may be pronounced differently?

Are you talking about candidates' names? If so, then sure. But I've had to read entire constitutional amendments and referenda before voting on them. I mean. I chose to read them and understand them. As every citizen should.

I get that the studies don’t show significant decreases in voter fraud with voter ID requirements.
It doesn't matter if a huge percentage of people don't vote because of the need for id proof to vote. So be it. You want to vote as person x, prove you are person x. If you don't have id to prove it that means you are to lazy to get an id card. Why the hell should I care if people are to lazy to vote, that only makes my vote carry more weight because of their laziness, and nothing that I did.

Nobody is suggesting they be required to carry an ID.
Just provide an ID that second Tuesday in November if they want to vote.
Precisely
He's being intentionally obtuse....or maybe is just that ignorant.
You shouldn't NEED to carry an I.D. at all times, but if you want to vote (just like many other things) it should be required.

I don’t think people are saying any should be forced to ALWAYS carry an ID.
Just carry it into the voting booths.
It really makes no sense at all not to.
It’s really funny how the left is always claim that republicans are trying to rig elections, yet they block a very cheap and easy way to help prevent that.

I sure was. But also translation is very simple nowadays. Its not like you have to hire an in house translator. It could easily be kinda like how you can chose closed caption languages on cable TV...

Oh I’ve met a handful of people who have no ID at all.
Every single one was a non English speaking undocumented immigrant.
Now I’m sure there are a handful out there, but I have never met a single US citizen who did not have some form of identification. May not be on them at the time but they ALL have had one somewhere.

I would imagine millions of both dems and pubs in rural poor areas could give two shits about getting an ID and probably cant afford the gas to drive to adminstration building
