A major farm organization should sue for racial discrimination.

It's as simple as that. If people don't start standing up LOUDLY against this festering genocide, it may just happen.

This has to be sued. This is illegal discrimination. No way this stands.

This is literally how USDA programs for farmers are set up currently. New farmers, minority farmers, and those below the poverty level get more money and more opportunities than John Smith white guy who's been farming for 30 years.

Unfortunately, it's the result of those producers being discriminated against in the past.

But! BUT! BUT!!
They had to pass the bill so somebody would read it and tell them what was in it.

If the USSC had any balls, they'd strike this down as unconstitutional. Unfortunately, 5 are leftists and cowards and Roberts is compromised.

Hopefully the class action suit makes it to scotus. It has to be brought before them, otherwise they’d be legislating from the bench.

Thomas Burrell, president of the Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association, a Memphis-based trade group for 21,000 members nationwide. “They can forgive their debt, start over and go back to the front of the line. They’re not asking for any more than anyone has received. They’re just asking for their share.”

And then this little gem.

quote:

"There has been a lot of unfair delving out of money in the past, and then we just went through four years where we were told you can't get any crop insurance because you don't have irrigation. There seems to always be some ruse or something that keeps us from getting federal funding, something that makes it harder," said retired U.S. Air Force veteran Marshall Davis, a farmer in Browntown, Alabama.

I can assure you that crop insurance ( federally subsidized I might add) is readily available for non irrigated crops.

You and me both, brother. You and me both. I’m starting to consider exit plans. Don’t know how, don’t know where, but if this continues down this path, I’ll hopefull be in another country in 5 years.

Most FSA's around the country are full of country white boys. This won't go like they think it will. Also that thread title is misleading as frick. It's already bad you don't need lie about it. White farmers aren't being banned from covid relief.

If Farm Bureau isn't planning on taking this to the courts I have no idea why anyone should still be paying members dues to them.

Yeah, if they meet that definition, or are socially disadvantaged. If you've been farming since the 1990s and served in the first Gulf War, you get no special treatment in programs.
