Basically we vote democrat when he’s a southerner. So our own governors. Jimmy Carter, Clinton. They haven’t ran a southern democrat as president recently.
And a poster above noted we’ve had guys like Cassidy and past governors that switched republican rt before running. They were democrats before and some did it mainly to go against things like legalized gambling.

JBE had a strong push from his Catholic base. Throw in his stance on guns and abortion and the Protestant vote helped as well. Of course, those who watched closely know that the tide turned in the middle of the night down there in NO. Just sayin’.
