Up to this point they have ALWAYS been able to replace anybody who retires with someone worse.

When you actually vote AGAINST banning boys playing girls sports - you have lost. When you are against sending criminals (illegals who commit crimes) out of the country - you have lost.

Before we give too awesome of a round of applause that same poll has Republican approval at only 36%. People hate both parties. The Democrats are just doing a better job of making people hate them than Republicans are.

It's not like rocket science. Political parties always do internal polling (they don't like to lie to themselves). It used to go like this:
Dem: What do the people think about policy 'XYZ'?
Poll: They love it.
Dem: Then we're for it.
But now it goes like this:
Dem: What do the Republicans think about policy XYZ?
Poll: The people love it and so do the Republicans.

And if those boys wanting to be girls were smarter they'd see that the Dems will eventually turn against them just like they did those blue collar workers. Cronyism and power are the only principles that the Democrat Party has ever stood for.
