a bipartisan plan to extend ACA subsidies

So which MAGA reps/Senators (are there any?) are voting no?

trump campaigned on replacing the Affordable Care Act with a better health care system.

He even told us that he had a concept of a plan.

Surely that plan is ready by now. Does anyone have a link to it?

The dems have played this perfectly

They haven’t really… they are just out threatening people to keep their mouth shut.

The federal employee unions came out not long after the shutdown and said that the government should be reopened while the subsidy issue was worked out.

One example.

quote:

Both political parties have made their point, and still there is no clear end in sight,” Everett Kelley, president of the AFGE, wrote. “It’s time to pass a clean continuing resolution and end this shutdown today. No half measures, and no gamesmanship.” The AFGE represents more than 800,000 federal and Washington government workers

You heard this repeated lately? They reeled these people in with threats lightning quick.

They use threats and intimidation on their loose ends. And use the media to advance agenda. All because the programmed drones keep them in office.

NO SUBSIDIES, dammit! NO MORE handouts, no more pandering, NO!

Everything that seems to be on the table is a blink on the part of Republicans. NO MORE!

Keep the damn government closed 'til the cows come home. We're doing just fine!

P.S. Interestingly, passports are still being processed and at pretty much the same pace as pre-shutdown. (this from a post office clerk who processes dozens of applications a day).

It is happening. The republicans would get destroyed in the mid-terms otherwise.

Extend it for 1 year to get past mid-terms but with a cap of 150k. If they can’t come up with a replacement by then, frick it, let it expire and blow up.

One that would pass a democrat filibuster?

The left is punishing the American public right now because they failed with Obamacare and want more taxpayer money. You think they would vote for a plan that would give Trump credit for anything? When they can use the public “as leverage”?

And of course, any extension will be tied and timed to a round of elections.

I'm not talking about whether it would pass or not.

I just would like to see this better health care plan that trump has been promising for years.

Surely it is ready by now. Where is it?

coming up with a new health care solution is difficult work, so there's zero chance trump is going to tackle that. he'd rather rename the gulf of mexico and post memes

Republicans getting played again, as everyone called it. Dems can do no wrong, USA is done, just a few more ashes to smolder… Republicans are pussies and America suffers…

Really?!?!

It's easy, actually: just erase everything hussein did. Reset to BO (before obama). Ideal? No. Much better? Hell yes.

Without the pandemic.. these subsidies wouldn’t even exist. The prices will go to the level it would be with the ACA along with its original subsidies. They have the absolute idiots believing the original ACA subsidies are being axed and not just the pandemic spending. Better yet…. The democrats are the ones that put in the end date as well as voted for that end date enthusiastically.

It goes to show how politically savage Dems are. They use a crisis like Covid to add “temporary” subsidies to a highly unpopular Obamacare to make it more affordable and it’s unpopular politically during such crisis to oppose any relief to Americans. They know once it’s there it will be politically unpopular to ever let them expire and it continues to prop up a failure of a healthcare law the democrats created.

You have to give it to them, evil and disgusting as they are, they run circles around the feckless GOP. GOP Congress is like the British army in the revolutionary war, they have all the advantages but continue to lose because they insist on fighting a gentlemen’s war while being picked off by guerilla warfare.
