You're talking to people whose reality revolves around the premise that Israel controls the United States of America (that and a few provocateurs). Any analyis of this conflict that doesn't name that as the primary cause goes in one ear and out the other. Those folks are hardwired drones.

The lefts response would be, “some people did something, but it was mostly peaceful”. Or “we need to let them burn off some of their frustrations”.

In 1953 the CIA organized the overthrown of Mossadegh, the elected prime minister of Iran, because America and Britain were concerned he would not keep them supplied with cheap oil. They installed the Shah of Iran as leader who was a puppet dictator that used his secret police to kill any dissidents and keep himself in power until 1979 (over 25 years). The backlash against this authoritarian regime led to the religious fundamentalists taking over the country , while they have been brutal and killed thousands of their own citizens, they are not that different than the Shah in terms of their methods.
The conflicts since then that Israel has fomented and promoted, have only led Iran to see America as a permanent enemy.
The point that can legitimately be made is that we set Iran on this path, and it is reasonable to think they hate us after what WE have done to THEM.
