I found this to be an interesting article.

Earlier this summer, the Summit supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Lab in Tennessee set about crunching data on more than 40,000 genes from 17,000 genetic samples in an effort to better understand Covid-19. Summit is the second-fastest computer in the world, but the process — which involved analyzing 2.5 billion genetic combinations — still took more than a week.
When Summit was done, researchers analyzed the results. It was, in the words of Dr. Daniel Jacobson, lead researcher and chief scientist for computational systems biology at Oak Ridge, a “eureka moment.” The computer had revealed a new theory about how Covid-19 impacts the body: the bradykinin hypothesis. The hypothesis provides a model that explains many aspects of Covid-19, including some of its most bizarre symptoms. It also suggests 10-plus potential treatments, many of which are already FDA approved. Jacobson’s group published their results in a paper in the journal eLife in early July.

Illinois dropped over 5000 cases on WOM today. I wonder if that is a data entry error, data dump, or a huge spike that we will see for a while.

That has to be a data dump. They only had 1300 yesterday and I honestly don’t remember seeing anything much above 2000 a day over that last couple of weeks.

Agree, likely a dump. Another one. You'd think after 6 months, the states would have their reporting nailed down and standardized, and these harvests wouldn't be needed anymore.
We'll see what COVID Tracking does with it when the final numbers drop in a couple of hours.

This is the link to the COVID-19 tracker that I have created and shared on Google Drive.
If you want to view the shared sheet, follow this link COVID-19 Tracker
If you want to download a copy of this sheet and manipulate it follow this link Downloadable COVID-19 Tracker
The source for the data is from https://covidtracking.com/data/
7 Day Average Growth of New Cases by State
7 Day Average Growth of Deaths by State
7-day average Positivity Rate

So, if we back out Illinois for today, cases are flat WoW.

Illinois, as in Chicago....yep, I trust that urban firing range

Today, it was Illinois turn to frick with the data.
IL has been averaging 40K tests per day over the last 7 days ...Today they dropped 149K. Cases have been averaging 1.8K, today they were 5,594.
It does look like we are starting to trend upward with new cases. If this continues, then we're seeing a back to school bounce. I heard that Fauci said today that 69% of the new cases were from 18-24 year olds.

This is by design. You’ve got to know that by now?
There is no present day circumstances that will result in less than about 1,000 COVID deaths per day through the end of October because the system is designed for that.
You think they’re done counting COVID deaths once all the suicides and “died with Covid” cases are counted? You’re not paying attention. The next phase will be counting lockdown deaths as COVID deaths, and there is a huge and growing inventory of those. It’s already being discussed and written about in the media.

I wonder if there will be a ramped up number of cases with all the planned protesting that was during the RNC convention.
I feel really bad for the people.. especially the old people... coming out of the White House. Those idiots screaming in their faces. disgusting.
I hope none of them get the China virus from that filth.

Are they still counting deaths as anyone who died positive, even if they had a fatal condition prior? I was told the death toll would be decreased over 60% IF we counted deaths ONLY attributed to Covid. Thoughts?

College testing is out if control. Both of mine are getting tested constantly

Once again we see that the raw number of cases is a poor indicator, as its driven largely by the amount of testing. And testing is what’s increased relative to the start of school, especially at colleges.
But without an increase in positivity, hospitalizations, or deaths the rise in case alone is a nothingburger. But that won’t stop the media from fear mongering.

No. I just ignored it.

You don’t even have to have a positive test to go down as a COVID death.
You can kill yourself and go down a COVID death.
You can ingest a lethal does of fentanyl, have a cop kneel on your neck for 10 minutes and die of a heart attack and go down as a COVID death.
Posted on 9/5/20 at 6:56 am to David_DJS
I wouldn’t look for cases or deaths to go down before the election.

Say herd immunity threshold is 20%. And let's say you limit your calculation to only those people who work in the US, which is 155 million. And use a case fatality rate of 1.4%. That's still 400k something people dead. People who are fit enough to work. This shite isn't going away, is it?
