Thanks for pointing that out, I fat fingered a number. It's fixed now.

Recovery reporting is meaningless. Most recoveries are not being reported at all.

Seems like the recoveries are being grotesquely ignored in the reportings.

The worldmeters site still shows about a dozen states that are reporting zero recoveries. A few others are showing far more deaths than recoveries.

WE have nearly 75% infection rate in the nursing home. Hoping deaths stay at 4 which is enough but we have 5 in the hospital holding their own.

I'll join the ranks of not having a job to go back to.

IHME updated their model again. Predicted deaths up from 60K to 65K. We're 20K deaths away from 65K, I don't see any way that 65K is correct.

Their model is garbage. That said... with the miscounting of COVID deaths, they could be right Our ability to count is only slightly better than my 5-year old's.

Absolutely. You subtract the deaths from the total cases, then deduct the new cases over the past 10 days or so, and that's a reasonable estimate of your recovery number.

This is the link to the US state level tracker that I have shared via Google Drive. Chromdome's State Level COVID-19 Daily Tracker
This is the link to the COVID-19 Country tracker that I have shared on Google Drive. Chromdome's COVID-19 Daily Tracker

The source for the data is https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
The source for the testing data is from https://covidtracking.com/data/

4/18/20 UPDATE: I am changing these updates to show the data for the US without NY State numbers included. The information and graphs presented in my updates going forward will all be from the perspective of omitting NY State results. All of the original data is still present on the tracker linked above

I guess it should be assumed that if they haven't died, then after 3 weeks, they are recovered?

I would go out to 4-5 weeks. A lot of patients are kept on intubation / medically induced coma it seems.

There was a huge increase in the number of test results reported today @ 311K new tests. It appears that several states, CA & FL to name two dumped a bunch of negative test results into the system.

The number of positive test results held steady at 27K which is the same as yesterday's positive tests.

Yeah I think their model definitely over corrected. Their numbers for Alabama are off.

They projected we would have 90 in ICU today, the site I'm using to track says we have 288. They projected 83 on vents and we have 170.

I suspect that their overall ranges are pretty good at this point, but don't put a ton of stock in the actual number on the site.

How does this happen? Were they just holding onto 300k tests?

their total deaths for alabama is pretty close; they expected us to have 190 by the end of the day today and we have 190 right now. will probably end up around 195~200

My first thought. Seems like a strange thing to do. How much did that impact their % positive for the day?

The daily % Positive has been running between 16% and 20% for quite a while. Today it was 8.7%.

It’s biggest issue is that the projections assume a symmetrical, normal distribution of daily death totals (increase and decrease parallel one another) when the reality is it appease the he much more “fat-tailed” with more kurtosis and, more importantly, more skewness on the backside (slower decline).

Who is the"John" guy Trump just roasted the nuts of calling him out for laughing about the testing? Was it the same guy he said was the leader of the bad reporting? I tuned in late. Loved the roast though...
