I thought the Catholics were anti abortion and believe marriage is between a man and a woman.
I don't think Trump is a shining example of Christian lifestyle, but his policies align more with my Christian values.
Democrats routinely mock Christianity.
Plus, I moved from California. I saw what their policies did. Homelessness, drug abuse, and crime were rampant because of Democrat policies.

Which of Trump’s policies do you feel aligns with the teachings of Jesus Christ?
Fair trade over free trade
Distaste for war and negotiating peace deals
Opposing abortion
Expanded and partially refundable child tax credit
No tax on tips
Universities have to stop being bigoted against Asians and Jews
USAID can't steal from the world's poorest

The only reason I went was because of the new Pope, I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but the Catholic church is obviously very left
No, no it’s not. Some priests, bishops, etc are but there are also many who are not. Just like anyone, a priest’s viewpoint is shaped by many things. I have met and am friends with a lot of priests who are solidly Catholic.
The Catholic Church is neither liberal, nor conservative. Priests like the one you are talking about confuse the role of the Good Samaritan and Caesar. We, as individuals are called to help the poor and marginalized, we are not called to empower a central authority to do so.
Render unto God what isnGod’s and unto Rome what is a Rome and all. Most leftists policies fly in the face of Catholic teaching but so many are confused by the Seamless Garment bullshite from a child molesting Cardinal.

Jesus told the rich man “sell ALL that you have and give to the poor and come follow me…”. He also said that “the poor will be with you ALWAYS…”.
I don’t know if the RCC has been charitable re the poorest in society for the duration, or that Mother Teresa or Marx triggered a change, but it is obvious that they now support Socialism. Whether they do so as a matter of love or that of enlarging their Church ( like Johnson’s Welfare strategy) remains to be seen.
There was a religious guy who wrote a Book entitled “God’s Politics “, back when. I suspect that Cubbies read it, or maybe as a mother she just came to the guy’s conclusions via her own heart/conscience/mind. Don’t matter really as Jesus said that he was coming back the second time “not to bring peace, but a sword” which pits people against each other over this very issue. That is here. Maybe He is as well. “For them that look for his coming “, and can see Truth.
“Many are called yet few are chosen”. Most middle class Americans are “rich” by today’s standards and by the letter of Jesus’s statement re the qualifications to enter ‘Heaven ‘, indeed very few will meet that standard. I long ago realized that I am one of the “many” and not the “few”, but I am comfortable in the belief that I am ‘saved’ and going to Heaven in the laborious process of refining my character accordingly. I desire to live amongst all my imperfect brethren as we move forward step by step and life by life. I think the RCC would put my Judgmental fate in the “Purgatory” category while Protestants would label me as heretical, as they believe that most all ‘professing’ Christians get a pass via Jesus mercy. I prefer to earn my character such that the Lord will be proud of my work as I will have something of my own to offer Him in return for this wondrous and challenging life. I don’t go to formal Churches because I know that stating my beliefs would cause trouble as they all get their belief marching orders from the ‘Top’. Of course they all believe their Top is God/Jesus. Time will tell and Jesus will judge.
IMO, Tunis, go in your “closet “ and pray to Jesus to show you the Truth. The onus is then on Him to deliver. Of course you had better be ready to man-up when that Truth comes. Otherwise, welcome to “the many” club, many who think they are sailing in. God speed.

They never said that about Biden or Nancy who promoted abortion.

No they don’t.
Anyway, his point is functionally meaningless.

His support of the freedom for churches to be able to exist, so that they can prostelatize for Jesus.

Not all priests are liberal. You can be a Catholic and support Trump. Some of Trump's finest achievements line up with Catholic doctrine such as overturning Roe vs Wade. Fwiw Melania Trump is Catholic

ok...so lets ask it this way...which of Bidens policies aligns with teachings of Christ? Same question for the Democrat party?
Biden is phony and selfish. I’ve criticized him for professing to be Catholic while not behaving in ways that uphold Catholic teachings.

If your priest supports the abortion party he needs to attend confession

It was a little hard to pick out at first, but see what you’re saying now.
So if this is your point of view, why did you talk about a church visit at all?

Yet, almost every prominent Democrat who claims to be a practicing Catholic supports abortion, gay marriage and other moral tenets against Catholic doctrine. You wouldn't hear that Marxist priest say shite about any of them if he had a mouthful.

Ok. I would bet you voted for Kamala. Tell us how she would have been a better rep of Christian values than Trump.
Heck, tell us who in the current political game, in your opinion, would be.

I think you should stop looking towards politicians to protect Christ and Christians since neither need it and politicians tend to create greater division

I went to Saturday Mass for the first time in a long time, the Priest in so many words said, you can't be a good Catholic and support Trump, I was wondering if any of you have have come to the same crossroads, if so how did you personally handle it?
Just remember. Any priest other than the pope is fallible, and the pope is infallible on only rare occasions. Just throw pennies at him. You sure as frick can’t be a good catholic and vote democrat, green, solidarity party, or any other of those leftist, pro fig, collectivist abominations.

This is America. It was built on a Christian foundation. So Politicians that are God fearing is important to maintain a solid foundation.
What you want is anti-American, and is what actually creates the greatest of division. Good vs evil.

Your point is retarded, it IS the church and priest. Go pick one of the UMC churches with drag queens trying to convert kids from the pulpit, you wouldn't have a problem with that? Pick a hot political topic - abortion. The left wants to kill babies that have been fricking born, yet you want to listen to the priest that tells you can't vote for Trump.
Posted on 9/7/25 at 7:22 am to Tunasntigers92
Your priest is using his position to try and guilt people into supporting his political position. There is nothing more to see here. If you don’t like what that particular business is selling, shop somewhere else. That guys opinions are irrelevant, and he has no inside information or spiritual authority over anything. Don’t be so pathetic.
