I thought Bloomberg was the ultimate total disaster of a failed Presidential candidate, but Cuomo might be in the process of saying, "Hold my beer."

He actually had 2-3 pretty good days, but couldn't sustain it.

I saw on the headlines of the Naval hospital ship Cuomo piping in with this load of crap... because they couldn't stand that Trump cares and makes lemonade from lemons.

These liberal cysts/cities scattered around our country are little pockets of infection trying to bring down the rest of the country that supports them.

I’m pretty sure the states already lost that battle against fedgov. I derive great pleasure watching northern scum squirm in their bed

I foresee some urban areas burning soon as the government fails to deliver money and stuff in a timely enough manner. Our taxes are still going to end up paying for cell phones, rent, car notes etc. to help out some of the more financially challenged citizens.

As a generalization neither the federal government nor the States (or local) governments have the ability to stop movement of Americans across State borders, although commerce to a degree can be regulated... no ability exists for the stopping of Americans from moving or engaging of commerce which is not using the public right. Private rights have been reserve.

Individuals can be quarantined if reasonable suspicion that the person could be harmful to the public. Blanket quarantines do not offer due process rights so therefor would be unconstitutional, imo. Furthermore, not even sure where the U.S. is even granted this in any way... the people never gave government this power and for obvious reasons. Tyranny.

What would be the purpose of a more united United States if you have 50+ borders. Either the States or the Federal government setting up State quarantines or lockdowns would make this country a prison and contrary to law and war to me could be easily justified.

The power to do any of this just does not exist and for good reason.

If this keeps up, nobody is going to be paying taxes... the printing press will be used until it all collapses Zimbabwe style.

He wants people to leave. If they leave the state the people are not his problem any longer.

Many states would welcome a quarantine. These people will bleed from these blue areas into red areas and take up services there. The red areas will have their own problems and need their own services because they are limited.

He’s not wrong in a sense. He’s basically saying the Fed Government has said you can’t go there without punishment. Which is what you do in war time. I just not sure you can prevent from entering, but leaving is different.

A government can quarantine individuals they reasonable suspect might have a transmittable disease with due process rights, and they would have to flip the bill. However, no government that I am aware of really has the power to stop movement between the States other than regulation of commerce using the public right.

Can the U.S. stop air traffic to New York or from New York, yes, can the U.S. stop me from walking or driving from NY to PN, not really... no power has been granted to them.

Its called freedom.

The funny thing is that he bitches like hell when high income NY residents flee to Florida because there is no state income tax because he’s losing out on the revenue but he has no problem when they leave NY and reduce the potential burden on his healthcare system.

This is a shame because upstate NY has some beautiful scenery and there are plenty of MAGA voters there. They just know that their voice doesn't matter because NYC runs the state and no one else matters there.

In the early 1900s, my great grandfather stood post on a railroad trussel at night to help enforce a quarantine on a local city.

Coincidentally, he later died of smallpox, but it was unrelated to his stint on the railroad bridge.

Let’s go to war then... 2/3 of deaths reported today were from the NY/NJ area and NY owns nearly half of all cases in the US.
