Excellent way to say "I know next to nothing about islam" without saying "I know next to nothing about islam!!!

I just knew, when this thread was first created, that it would become a "I am a better Christian and practice truer Christianity than you" thread.

One of the best instances of stealth irony I’ve ever read. Bravo!

Try learning history and the reason so many people originally immigrated to the American colonies.
The moment you start restricting religion, you lose religious freedom. That's why we have the 1st amendment.

Not a single time has an attack been made on the US where the reason given was Christianity.
They don't yell "Death to Christianity" in the streets.
They attack us because we are over there. Because we have based on what they consider their holy land. They say Death to America because of our influence in the region and our support of Israel.
You are hooked on propaganda.
And as for the ones who are here in the US and don't assimilate - our leaders brought them here to cause trouble for political power in the form of votes and to get people focused on that rather than other issues.

I'm not a Christian. I do not at all accept or believe salvation is found in the sacrifice of the truth, the way and the light. Quite the opposite.
In order to live in a society one could refer to as "Heaven" you have to meet certain requirements. If you are a thief, you can not live in a society without theft.
Thinking Jesus did it for you is just a good way to keep people from not following the path and doing what is required. But he does show what is required if people want to follow his example.

I know history just fine. But the Constitution isn't a suicide pact. Islam is not only incompatible with Western culture it's incompatible with all cultures.

Sounds like a great battle cry against the Muslims and anti-Christians.
And by anti-Christian I mean those who worship government and the god of "no-gods" as well as those that worship gender and racial division.
But make no mistake, you will and in fact are picking a side.

bor...gtfo out of here...this isnt 2005 anymore. they do not attack us because of that. is france over there? no....so why do they keep attacking?
why do they continue to try and over run countries?

Well that's the reason why they attack us. And they aren't yelling death to Christians in the street. All those claims are pure propaganda.
They aren't trying to over run countries, they are being invited to them and promised welfare and a better life by politicians who represent a globalist agenda instead of the people.
They arrive in large numbers, have no plans to assimilate and that is the result. If there is no assimilation, you just end up with an invasion and/or balkanization.
How you can look at that and think they are the problems and not the leadership I do not understand. It should serve as a lesson on why we don't need the immigration and that our leaders, both republican and democrat, are selling us out for a globalist agenda.
And we are paying for them to do it.
This is a problem which goes well beyond Islam and Muslims, it's just easy for them to push your buttons with them. We have large numbers of Christians coming from South America and their culture is not ours. They come in large numbers and have their own communities and it's the same end result - no assimilation. And we're going to have either balkanization or an invasion.
This is one area where Trump has done decently in keeping campaign promises. It could be better, it needs to be better, and we need to elect congressmen(conservatives) who do that rather than neocon RINOS. And sadly, Trump will likely give amnesty to millions before leaving office, I really hope I am wrong.
I suggest focusing on the ones actually guilty rather than blaming some made up scapegoats - our own politicians. You want to fix things, that's where it's done. And if you think it's a democrat only thing, look again.

we agree on this
its not just the muslims
but you are 1000% naive on them. they tell you 100% they plan to take over countries from within. their own holy text compels them to do this.
you stop all that shite though by simply stopping all immigration and no student visas to anyone that is non european, japanese or korean or tawainese at this point. but 100% no muslims, no indians
but bro...literally in the quran is compels them to kill the infidels.
we agree the problem is out government and dumbass wars
but at the same time you cant allow iran to get nukes either, sorry, just cant.

Not very. If you want to focus on the more extreme you can find what you are looking for. But I can also find the same extreme in Christians. I see people talk about dropping nukes on millions of them all the time here.
But wouldn't it be silly if I pretended like that was the whole of Christianity?
And again, the attacks that are made come with clear reasons usually and it's not because of Christianity. It's because we are over there fricking with them constantly.

And you think all those people are following that rather than following the opportunity given to them?
They are being invited by leaders who betray their own countries. If they weren't being invited, they wouldn't be there and they would just get deported.
quote:
but bro...literally in the quran is compels them to kill the infidels.
When the crusades were going on, the goal of those was to "kill the infidels". That is literally what they called Muslims.
So when I see "Crusades are coming back", I see kind of the same thing. And again, I don't have much use for it from either side. You start mixing religion and state and I'm out.

quote:Gnostics came in various flavors. You seem to be one of them.
I'm gnostic, not Gnostic.
quote:
Good works are not required according to Paul. Only declaring Jesus is Lord and believing he died on the cross. James mocked Paul over this in James 2.
Paul taught that good works are a fruit of the Spirit's work in the believer. Christians are to put sin to death (meaning, fight against disobedience and be obedient).
"Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!" -Romans 6:15
quote:Not quite, unless by "walk the path" you mean "believe in Jesus by faith". Otherwise you are just saying "if you do good works, you will do good works".
The truth and what James and Jesus talk about is that when you walk the path/follow the way, you will do "good works" along with way automatically.
quote:You completely misunderstood what Jesus taught the rich man. That guy came to Jesus asking what good work he needed to do when no good work would actually save him. Jesus responded to his faithlessness by pointing out that he couldn't even obey the 1st commandment. That man made an idol of his wealth and possessions, so he wouldn't follow Jesus (by faith), because his love was for those possessions rather than for God.
Jesus didn't speak of a free gift to the rich man, of which the rich man would have surely accepted. Jesus told the man he had to sell his things and follow the path. That it was easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than a rich man into heaven. Paul says all that rich man needs to do is declare Jesus is Lord and believe Jesus died for his sins.
You've completely twisted that on its head.
quote:Paul pointed to Christ. Jesus is not an idol, but the very Son of God, who is the first and the last, and created all things.
Christianity teaches you Pauline doctrine which is to worship an idol.
quote:You need to define what "walk the path" is, then, because you just keep talking about doing good works and having "understanding" by being "like a child", but you haven't explained what those things mean.
I am telling that you have to keep the commandments and walk the path/follow the way. Just doing what you think are good deeds is not that, but when you walk the path they will happen naturally.
quote:No, it wasn't.
That was Proverbs 9:10
Prov. 9:10 says, "...the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding". It's translated "holy one" because it parallels the fear of the Lord. Since Jesus is God, Paul can rightly say, "in [Jesus] are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Col. 2:3)
quote:You keep contradicting yourself. You admit that you are a man and cannot give the truth, but the only way for anyone to "become like a child", as you say, is to already listen to someone like you, because no one is going to ask a god he doesn't already believe in to reveal truth without that god proactively revealing himself/herself/itself.
Honesty and a true desire for truth. You must become like a child, which is to look at things openly without bias. A child does not pretend to know the answers, he only seeks out of honest curiosity and without bias on what the answer may be. If you ask men, you will get an answer from men. And I am a man, thus I can not give it to you. But I can see that you are stuck on the wrong thing.
So, I have to ask you how to find this knowledge, but you say that I shouldn't even ask you (a man), because you can't help me. I should ask god, even though if you never posted on this forum, I wouldn't know that this idol of yours existed in the first place. That means, truth exists but you have to somehow stumble upon it. Good luck with that.
quote:So your personal experience trumps the grammar of the text? So why do you even talk about the Bible? You don't believe it is true and only use it to confirm your own bias. Whenever someone contradicts you according to the Bible, you reject it anyway. You are acting irrational.
I don't need to check again. Not only is that not what he is saying, I know for a fact it is true because that is what I experienced.
quote:The Bible teaches that the Spirit works through the preaching of the Word of God primarily, and in instances where He goes where He does, it is as He chooses, not according to what man chooses, so you can't liken this to the work of the Spirit, unless you want to admit that the Spirit only reveals the truth to a tiny few individuals like yourself. You have no book that reveals this truth. You have no "church" (apparently) to teach people. You just point people to your own personal experience, which is contradicted by countless other individuals with countless other experiences.
It doesn't matter what culture you come from, the same things are available to everyone. There are lies and deceptions that prevent people from seeing it, but it exists at a fundamental level. Because it is understanding, and like math, it is universal.
And that is also how the "holy ghost" can speak to anyone regardless of what language they speak. Because it gives in understanding, not the expression of it. It is the only true teacher. I am a man, I can not give it to you.
quote:John and Matthew are held to be written by the disciples of Jesus, whereas Mark was written down by a companion of Peter. Luke was a companion of Paul and wrote the gospel of Luke according to multiple eye-witness accounts. So yes, the disciples wrote at least 2 of the 4 gospels, and may have dictated a 3rd (Mark).
No, the disciples did not write them. Most of them were written by other people long after the disciples were dead. You are ignoring history.
quote:Anyone can make such a claim. Christianity is a rational and historical faith. You are a Gnostic who is saying, "just trust me", because you had an experience of some kind. You've given me no reason to believe you.
I told you already, there is only one true teacher and it is not me. I am limited to words, I can not give you understanding. At best I can only reveal something that was already given to you.
quote:No, the free gift does not "enable people to sin and not walk the path". I've expressly stated that Jesus taught to obey the law of God, and Paul also taught obedience to the law. What they did not teach is that such obedience is the basis for our justification.
Let's see. I tell you that you need to keep the commandments and that you need to work on gaining understanding to do so properly.
You teach that a person only need to get their free gift and they are saved. Which enables people to sin and not walk the path and still believe they will be saved.
I believe what Jesus and Paul wrote because they are in harmony. They lived and taught in history. You are one guy who claims to have seen god and have no way to prove that you have. I've been transformed by God to obedience through the Spirit's work in me. I obey the law and repent when I sin. You can't even tell me what laws I'm supposed to keep, even though you keep hanging your hat on keeplng them.
quote:I'm a Christian who understands the Bible according to how God wrote it. I'm not a heretic who claims personal revelation and twists the words of God to make it seem like I should listen to you, only for you to reject the Bible anyway when I test your words by it.
Again, that is Proverbs you are calling a ridiculous statement.
Do you even know what you are?
Posted on 9/21/26 at 5:03 pm to 3down10
quote:Someone who knows that 1+1=2 is not an authority on math because of it.
A man who understands math can tell you if 1+1=2 and 1+1=3 is true or false. That makes them an authority.
quote:The Bible is God's word, not the words of men. Even what you quoted displays that. You accept that the quotation from Jesus is accurately written and is true, yet you then turn around and say the book is nothing but man's words and is no authority. Why do you keep quoting it if you do not believe it is authoritative? You can't even stick to a single standard.
Matthew 7
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
The bible is the word of man. The only authority it has is that which you give it.
quote:They could, but you are not addressing my point. Science books are based on knowledge of the material world that can be understood by observation and testing. The Bible's claims are nothing like that in principle. The Bible is true, but it's focused on spiritual realities, not physical ones. So no, you cannot compare the two as you are.
Anyone could just stop accepting anything that happened in the future and cling to the old science book and claim everything else was invalid. Especially if the books are government approved like the bible
Science textbooks claim knowledge from observation and testing, and the Bible claims knowledge from God's revelation. You are claiming a different kind of revelation but not explaining how anyone can know it except for listening to you first (but then you turn around and say you can't actually get it from you).
quote:No, the Bible makes its own claims of divine revelation. I'm not elevating it beyond what it claims for itself. You are ignorant of the Bible and only know a few passages here and there that support your own perverted perspective, and you don't know what to do with any passages that refute you except to say it's just the words of men with limited understanding and it's full of "BS", as you say.
It's a collection of books written by man doing their best to express the understandings they had at the time. You are the one that elevates them into something more.
Thomas Jefferson had the right idea.
Why should I believe you? You've already said that I can't get understanding from man, and yet this "god" of yours hasn't revealed it to me otherwise. Apparently he's withholding it from me because I didn't know your idol existed and that I should ask it for something that I already believed I had in the Bible.
quote:You don't have to. You have your own flavor of it in your religion-of-one.
I do not belong to any Gnosticism religion, or any religion.
You claim special knowledge given to only a select few individuals in private revelation, and you are inviting others to attempt to gain that secret knowledge for themselves.
quote:According to who? God's word in the Bible doesn't teach that. You keep cherry-picking things from the Bible that you think coincide with your secret knowledge while rejecting everything else it says against you.
What the bible calls the Holy Ghost is that which teaches and gives you understanding. It is the only true teacher. God is within, not a physical location. That which is spirit is spirit and that which is flesh is flesh. Which is also to say consciousness vs the physical reality.
quote:My dog can't ask me to teach it algebra, nor does it have the capacity to even understand what it is. You're equating me to a dog, where I can't just learn it from you, and yet you haven't explained how one can even begin to learn it if not from a man, like you, talking about it. This idol of yours must be very selective in who it decides to share this knowledge with.
Teach your dog algebra.
quote:I'm nothing like the Pharisees. That's you. You are teaching that obedience to the law through understanding it is the way to salvation. Jesus taught that loving God was the way to salvation. You have said nothing about loving God. You've only said we need to have understanding to helps us obey the law. That's why the Jews put such a premium on studying the law: because they thought they were saved by obeying it. Again, that's you. You are the whitewashed tomb.
Jesus was also called a jerk, a blasphemer, a subverter, lawbreaker and so forth by the Pharisees. He openly called them hypocrites, blind guides(like you) and whitewashed tombs that looked holy on the outside but were spiritually dead inside.
So I appreciate the compliment.
quote:Um, no. I asked God and He gave me the Bible. The Bible was the mechanism for His answer. He hasn't given me anything else. He didn't give me some vision like you claim. He didn't whisper contradictions in my ear like he did with you, apparently.
You looked in the bible for your answer because you asked the bible your question.
quote:No, Jesus did. I showed you previously. I'll repeat it:
Only Paul claims that.
He said if you believe on Him, you will be saved. Here are all the times that Jesus said that salvation comes by faith in Him (without referring to works):
John 3:15-16; John 3:18; John 5:24; John 6:29; John 6:35; John 6:40; John 6:47; John 8:24; John 10:9; John 11:25-26; John 12:46; John 14:1; John 14:6; John 20:31; Luke 7:50; Luke 8:48; Mark 5:34; Matthew 9:22; Mark 16:16; Matthew 11:28; Luke 19:10
quote:The problem with this analogy is that you are claiming God placed that sign down, and it wasn't the Bible. You said the sign exists somewhere, but only you know about it, and you can't actually tell me where it is, because it has to come from God.
It's like God comes to earth, and places a sign on earth that says "Heaven -> 50 miles". And then people start to argue with the sign claiming it's false, but some people see the sign and start to follow it.
I hope you see the conundrum you've put me in: apparently I need to follow a sign that I don't see and only you have seen it, but then you say I shouldn't listen to men (like you) about it, but should just ask God for that sign.
When I've asked God for that "sign" in the past, He's given me the Bible.
quote:Jesus said that He was the life, not just a sign that pointed to life. You can't say Jesus was the "shovel" in this analogy when Jesus said He is the source of eternal life, itself.
The locals priest have a fit and tell the government to take the sign down. So they come along with a shovel and dig up the sign. Some people say remember the sign and say - this is the direction the sign said. And then someone else comes a long, says you just need to worship the sign, you put a shovel around your neck and claim the sign saves you. And none of you actually follow the sign, you just sit around and praise it.
quote:The "sign" (Jesus) does save, by giving His life to pay for the sins of those who haven't obeyed God (everyone; no one can obey perfectly).
The sign can save you, but only if you follow. You sit around and worship the sign and expecting the sign to come pick you and give you a free ride instead.
You have to follow the sign and keep the commandments(path) it shows.
If Jesus only came to say "obey the law", then He did nothing different than what many prophets did before Him, even the ones who died because of that message. Jesus' sacrifice wasn't unique if it was just an example to us.
Posted on 9/21/26 at 5:20 pm to 3down10
quote:You have yet to explain what the "entire point" of "1+1=2" is. If all I had was knowledge of something, that doesn't mean I am compelled to do anything about that knowledge.
You put value on the variable instead of the understanding behind it. You worship the 1+1=2. Is it a true statement? Yes. Is it the entire point? No, it's useless without the understanding behind it.
Jesus is not a variable in some equation. He revealed that He is God, Himself, come in the flesh, to save sinners.
quote:You still haven't answered my question. What laws are we to follow, since that's the point of this life, apparently.
I'm using math to show you the difference between understanding math and expressing it, because I assume you have understanding of math and then can see the difference.
Do you guess on a math test when it says 1+1=X?
quote:If this were true, then there is no reason to believe it. You keep quoting it, so you must think it is true. Either it isn't reliable or it is. Which is it?
Yes I can, the bible is a collection of books picked to serve the Roman empire.
quote:Which commandments?
I have literally told you to keep the commandments and that the way/path is an actual thing that has to be followed.
quote:Funny enough, when the man asked Jesus which commandments to keep, Jesus actually answered him. You haven't answered me. Which commandments?
It's odd you quote those verses since they say the opposite.[/quote[They do not say the opposite, and you haven't shown that they do.
[quote]You bring up the rich man. And it says plain as day in Matthew 19:17
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Also, I already explained how you missed the point of that passage. Only Jesus is "good", and if everyone could obey the commandments, then they would also be "good". Jesus was showing that man that he wasn't "good", and when he thought he kept the whole 2nd table of the law, Jesus showed him he couldn't even keep the very first commandment.
quote:The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit accompanies the proclamation of the word of God and that He resides in all believers. You are teaching that the Spirit only reveals the truth to you. Those are different spirits.
And yes, it requires an act of God. That's what you call the "Holy Spirit" is. That's how I learned, an act of God.
quote:No I didn't. Show how they are cherry-picked.
You have to band together a series of cherry picked verses to create your claims.
You're all claim and no argument. Start backing up your claims.
quote:You don't believe in a just god. I do. You believe God can arbitrarily forgive sins, like the Muslims do. The Christian God--the only one there is--forgives sins only through payment of those sins. A judge that forgives a murderer because he promises he won't do it again isn't a just judge, but God provides justice by sending His own Son to pay the penalty we owe.
If you fix your mistakes, they are forgiven. By this I mean you understand them and will no longer do them in the future. No different than what you want from your own children. You do not punish them forever, only to correct their behavior. You forgive them when they do. So while something like murder and such is bad, and it's not going to help you in the eyes of men, you can be forgiven for your mistake by God. However if you are just looking for a blind eye so that you can continue, that is not the same thing and it won't be forgiven.
quote:I thought understanding only came from this god of yours.
You act based on your own understanding.
quote:No, there's a difference between a command and an act. God commands us to act a certain way, but we are still obligated to obey.
Evident by the things I see you supporting on this forum. And yet while you quote things that talk about an act of God being required, you're determined that act is a book.
quote:Theft? Are you referring to taxes? Jesus told His disciples to pay their taxes and even ate with tax collectors, not telling them to stop collecting taxes, but stop taking more than what was owed.
For example, you commit sin by supporting the theft of wealth from your fellow citizens. You support taking away free will on people, that is given to them by God and you want to spread death and destruction to those you deem not worthy and/or fear.
I support taking way free will? Is that a commandment?
Spreading death and destruction? Are you talking about the death penalty? Because God commanded it in the Bible and Jesus did not object to it in principle. He even said it was His mission to die.
quote:1) God supported going to war for just causes.

quote:Nothing wrong with that; even Paul taught to obey God's commands. If you want to quote the Bible, then quote all of it. Otherwise you are the one cherry-picking. If you don't actually believe the Bible is true, then you need to stop quoting it like it is, otherwise you need to listen to it when it teaches against you.
