Look at this absolute pandering bullshite.

quote:

Meatloaf, chicken n’ dumplins, country fried steak, sides that taste like Sunday supper, and yes, the world’s best pancakes, they’re all still here, with a few new dishes joining the menu.

Northern liberals always fail at trying to relate to and talk like salt-of-the-earth southerners. They think we’re stupid.

so only about 30 years or so left for these guys?
and by time they get there, that number will actually be higher.

I mean the whole corporate profile of CB is to sell a "salt-of-the-earth Southerner" aura. They've been a publicly traded company since 1981. If you've eaten there, you've bought into that schtick.

I rarely brave the PT board, but this got a legit chuckle out of me.

You should look into the demographics of who tends to eat out more. If a restaurant chain wants to grow profits, depending on blue hairs likely isn't the most viable option.

45 year olds don't stay 45 year olds though, and you can't assume that today's 25 and 35 year olds will be customers of CB in 20 or 10 years, respectively. Unless CB can market itself to them, which they're obviously trying to do. They're obviously trying to reach out to the under 40 demographic.

Under 40 does not equate to queers. They are obviously trying to reach out to the freak demographic. Just like Bud Light.

K. You're upset over a corporate chain that serves mediocre food though. Kind of a weird mountain to display your "god fearing, hard working, family oriented".

Young people are killing every restaurant because they're too poor to afford to eat out.

Not this again.

"Gen Z has to walk barefoot in the snow to school uphill...both ways. If they were really good when they were kids we'd scrape up the money for them to get a brick in their stocking for Christmas."

It used to be old people singing that song and now it's the young people.

I have two kids born right in the middle of the Gen Z range. They and their friends still eat out plenty. A hell of a lot more often than we did growing up (I'm Gen X).

And they get mani-pedis and they pay hefty gym memberships and they subscribe to multiple streaming services and they have to have the latest iPhone and they spend crazy amounts of money to go to concerts (which they then don't appear to pay much attention to).

I can understand why Cracker Barrel doesn't appeal to a 25 year old in 2025.

And nothing I can understand about it has anything to do with money spending habits.

One thing I will agree with you about is that I don't see them going to sit down restaurants as much as I do ordering delivery (which adds the delivery fees).

Are you people for real? Do your family and friends have to remind you to breathe?

Yes I'm for real. Queers and freaks are still a major minority in the under 40 demographic. What does breathing have to do with it?
