These companies continue to do this because they don’t want to risk not having access to capital. Even when they see how bad it can go. It’s about money. Too much capital in liberal hands and banks being pressured to debank people causes this. A company may hate it, but they’ll do what they need to do.
It’s sad.

It is getting bad for them. Yesterday they had 2 "L's", now they have only one, must have sold one for capital.

It figures their product has progressively gotten worse since the early 2000’s.

You must admit. This is a laughable attempt to show support of Cracker Barrel’s new LGTBQLMNOP+ agenda.

Honestly, the pride shite is whatever. Feel like they've been on that for a few years now but I may be wrong. I don't really give a shite about marketing to gays. Gays got money and like country breakfast too. That's just good business.

However, these flattened logos and corporate gray boxes rebrands are just soulless and need to stop.

I don't think they understand their customer demographic. In every Cracker Barrel I have been to, the customers were mostly older and white. I doubt they are supporters of woke causes

Haven’t read through the thread but I don’t get why a company would knowingly commit suicide? Is there some type of financial/lending threat looming over their head from the global financiers or something?

From my knowledge, the CEO for Cracker Barrel came from Taco Bell. Sure, a CEO from a mediocre fast food semi-mexican food place is going to know exactly how to properly run a southern country oriented comfort sit down food place.

I have been in one of the "renovated" restaurants. They are terrible. They stripped all the soul away and the places are now incredibly loud. The whole point of Cracker Barrel was you felt like you were going to grandma's house for a nice meal.

I actually argue that no company has been more hurt by Buc-ees than Cracker Barrel. Before Buc-ees, Cracker Barrel was the place you went on a road trip in the south for a good meal and to stretch your legs. Something the current CEO would know nothing about.

Buc-ees will be even more successful now as they fully replace Cracker Barrel as the place to stop on a road trip in the south for good food and a place to stretch and get out of the car.

I'll say it right now, Cracker Barrel declares bankruptcy within 2 years.

On another note too, you would think companies would not try to do the same thing that almost destroyed NASCAR. Alienate your core customer base trying to attract a new base that is never genuinely going to care about you. NASCAR did that, alienating southern fans for west coast and northeast fans who abandoned them the minute a new fad came along.

Cracker Barrel's customer base was always going to be older people, families and people who just wanted that feel of a simpler time, that feel of going to grandma's house. The woke Millennial and Gen Z crowd they think they are going to attract are going to care less about Cracker Barrel for the most part. They won't even get them through the doors.

I mean it's business 101. You can try to attract new customers, but you don't alienate your core customer base. I personally didn't like them introducing alcohol, but I get that in their mind they were trying to attract new people, and alcohol alone wasn't going to chase off long time core customers.

Food quality going to trash along with high prices, a stripping of the very feel of the store and a clear betrayal of their history will chase off the long time core customers that haven't already been chased off.

While I know it won't change a thing, if anyone has the number for Cracker Barrel corporate, post it here. Some of us can still give them a good ripping. RIP Cracker Barrel.

When people repeatedly say, "know your audience", this is an example of that. Their client base is likely 90% conservative, older people, and you just made them angry.

Stupid business decision.
It is a strange move. I'm not hating on anyone, but Bud Light and Elon Musk should be a warning to anyone offending their customers.

We have seen how McDs and others redecorate their stores every other decade and made it.

Maybe it is time for a change to get rid of the rusty old farm implements and creepy old pictures from the 1800's and early 1900's. Finally they are going give it a more modern look. They have the same look inside as they did since last century. Outdated and dingy. I never like the wait times.

I wonder if they staff will still wear the aprons and have the stars to which level of training they are at.
