A scientist that refuses to publish data. Well you don’t see that every day.

Isn't this the same tactic used by the Gaslight Media? Report fake news until they have exhausted the effectiveness of the gaslighting and then they go silent on their previous fake news and move on to the next fake news stories.

Ha, right. These lying pieces of excrement.
Misinformation and no information is what we now expect from "our government" and media.

The same data that was shoved down our throats for months to show that it’s a pandemic of the unvax’d ? Unbelievable. This is somewhat disappointing considering the Scotland report was some of the best actual data available….
In Louisiana, all we get is bs claims on the dashboard that 60% of deaths are the i vaxed when 99% of 70+ is fully vax’d. I want to see someone request that data

Would not accurate data dispel any “misrepresentation”?
No, because most people don’t understand how statistics work. Because of this it’s pretty easy to use raw data to convince the average person of a great many incorrect ideas. For instance, it’s what lawyers do with the prosecutors fallacy to make juries incorrectly assume guilt on the basis of statistics and multiple convictions have been thrown out because of this after the fact.
Many through the course of the pandemic have spammed the base rate fallacy and causal link fallacies to trick unknowing onlookers into believe numbers say things they don’t actually say. And because the only thing people hate more than being wrong is being told they’ve been Jedi mind tricked into being wrong on the basis of their own ignorance on a given topic, these false beliefs become intractable to reason.
Now that being said that’s a bad reason to not publish the data. They should still be putting the information out there in my opinion.

Agree. It might help public health messaging in the short term, but it will probably undermine trust in the long term. There's no panacea against a the antivaccination movement which is well-organized and has its tactics down (cherry-pick, use pseudo-expert/fringe contrarians, and repeat, repeat, repeat heuristic). The data for public mandates for childhood vaccines generally (not just COVID) and bodes ill is starting to look bad as bleed-over from the propaganda and it bodes ill for public health in the next few years.

If the data does not stand up to basic scrutiny than just blame the "anti vaxxers."

So what she is saying is that the vaccine was misrepresented to the public, because it was supposedly 90-something percent effective against transmission…

The data shows age-standardized rates per 100,000 so this would seem to be an apples to apples not a raw data comparison, right?
In any case, can you offer an opinion on why these standardized rates would be higher in the vaccinated?
And how do you explain the Israel data if the vaccines are working as advertised? They are coming down from the highest peak of cases and deaths despite high vaccine and booster uptake.

You speak to the antivaccination movement but it absolutely pales in comparison to the CDC propaganda. In addition, Fauci and Collins conspired to 'take down' prominent (not fringe) scientists because they dared to offer an alternate opinion on how the pandemic should be addressed. So only the official narrative has been allowed to be discussed.
But yes, people are going to distrust medical advice in the future. Not because of antivaxxers, but because the CDC, FDA, and medical providers have totally botched the response to this pandemic.
