Congressional Democrats plan to unveil legislation expanding the size of the Supreme Court on Thursday, according to three congressional sources familiar with the closely held measure.
The bill would add four seats to the high court, bringing the total to 13, from the current 9. …
The bill is led by House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler, Subcommittee chair Hank Johnson, and freshman Rep. Mondaire Jones.
In the Senate, the bill is being championed by Ed Markey of Massachusetts.

Does this need 60 votes in the Senate or just 50?

Until they change the rules, a simple majority won’t do it.

This is what they will use to change the rules so 51 people filled with soy can become dictator over 49 armed people.

This is why never give an inch on 2A.

It truly is the only thing between us and “them”.

Not imminent. I work for a firm that analyzes probability of legislation and probability of this passing is actually very low. Any legislation passing both houses that isn’t watered down and bipartisan isn’t going to happen as gridlock will continue. I know I will get down voted as this is a sky falling crazy Q crowd board now, but this president has the smallest majority since Grover Cleveland was president and the executive actions that undid Trumps, that undid Obama’s is all you are going to see. The rest is just political theater.

As soon as Joe wouldn't answer this question last year, we knew it would happen.

All we can do is get on the phone with other dem reps and tell them this isn't right and that you will help fund any challenger.

Then call Sinema and Manchin's offices and ask them to stand strong against filibuster. They are going to feel heat big time.

Last week, President Biden signed an EO that he said would form a “bipartisan” commission to study expanding the Supreme Court, but obviously some Democrats don’t want to wait for that report.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley had some things to say about congressional Democrats reportedly readying legislation to pack the court:

The House and Senate Democrats are moving forward with a bill to add 4 new justices to the Supreme Court. There is nothing subtle or elegant in the move. Just a raw muscle play to take control of the Court… LINK

If the report is true, they have decided not to wait for the Commission. A move to just add 4 new justices would dispense with even the pretense of principle. The bill will now strip away any semblance of constitutional values for members who do not denounce raw court packing.

Civ War2. Now we know why they let in all those military age men illegals (shock troops with low allegiance to the constitution) from south of the border. Hell is coming to America

Remember when Joe wouldn’t answer the question on if he would pack the court until AFTER the election ???

Our majority of voters are too worried about trying to raid a GameStop than the implications of voting in people like this

Burn it all down. America is over with as we knew it

Am I wrong here by thinking this might be too brash for moderates? This is a pretty big line to cross. Are they sure they have the votes?

The Supreme Court is the moral high ground that democrats need to satisfy their zeal to make their party a religion

But, this goes to show the intent of the democrats. Whether it passes or not, they intend to take control of the government by force. The little communist authoritarians on the left are salivating at the idea of full government control and unchecked power.

I don't think it passes. Biden has been doing a lot of grandstanding and not really moving goal posts.

This won't pass they are just starting the process. It'll be awhile before they have enough votes to do this

In the Senate a bill is debated on the floor. It takes 60 votes to invoke cloture (end debate). This is where the filibuster happens.

Once debate has ended it takes a simple majority vote to pass a bill.
