Also this would happen every 2 or 4 years, and in 20 years we would have 100 justices. The court would be a joke.

Yeah, that poster you're responding to isn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen

I'd say Roberts has already carried them over that threshold

No. Just the opposite.

It truly is the only thing between us and “them”.

That and God are the only 2 things holding them back at the moment.

too brash for moderates

That proved to be the case in FDR's day. Less-progressive DEMOCRATS in the House and Senate thwarted Roosevelt's dream of a progressive, fortified Supreme Court.

Jump forward 80 years. The current Court is unabashedly conservative (6 of the 9 justices were appointed by Republican presidents) and that's not only out of step with mainstream Democrats, but also with the zeitgeist of 21st-century America. I'm no expert seer, but I can visualise a court with 13 justices, with a mainstream majority of 7 of them.

See now, had Hillary won, the court would be in a liberal majority of 7-2 (counting Roberts) and this wouldn't even be a thing for Dems. It's not about making a necessary adjustment. It's about power, pure and simple.

Markey, Johnson, Nadler and crew are taking us one step closer to civil war. We really, really, really do not need to go down that road.

But yeah, most everyone knew Joe was lying when asked if he would support court packing.

Convention of States

That's pretty well defunct. Even noted conservatives like Mark Levin no longer regard this as a serious plan, and he wrote a book on the subject about 10 years ago

Not imminent.

Just like the GOP would never sit back and watch the opposition party blatantly steal an election?
