In this analogy, are you equating the economic sanctions that we imposed on Japan (for brutally attacking the Chinese among others) to the annihilation of damn near all of the Iranian leadership???

Hopefully you did some warm ups before that stretch

All the loser progressives here want to cede the SOH to Iran; they want to keep the regime in power. Why? Because it supports their TDS narrative.

We were told that Irans nuclear capability was obliterated in our massive bombing in June 2025

Was that just a lie or ignorance?

Some professor at the University of Chicago says the US is cooked over there. We can't defend against that many drones and ballistic missiles.

I've watched professor Pape on a handful of pods. He said he counseled generals about how absurd it would be trying to attack/invade and they pretty much nodded their heads and didn't say much. This is the low end of Shahed drone coverage. It's probably twice this. He has good graphics about the terrain, too.

Iran started the war in 1979.
If we're going to treat US-Iran relations as one continuous conflict spanning decades, then starting the clock in 1979 is arbitrary. At a minimum, you have to go back to 1953, when the US and Britain orchestrated the overthrow of Iran's prime minister and helped consolidate the Shah's power, then supported his authoritarian regime for the next 25 years. That doesn't excuse Iran's actions since 1979, but you can't have an honest discussion about who started the conflict while conveniently ignoring the events that led to 1979.

Actually nobody wants this, which is why it's such a quagmire.

Trump screwed up royally and there's no easy way out. If there was he would've taken it months ago.

If we allow them to control the SOH its just a matter of time before other folks start doing the same to other vital economic choke points (panama, suez, Bab el, malacca) and that essentially becomes a massive global tax on everyone for everything. Would be catastrophic for trade.

We've had free and clear waterways for the most part since WW2 and it's lead to incredible prosperity, we have to get back to that (and maintain it).

A max age limit would be ideal.

Yea and we could've bombed it again...."Mowing the grass" on their nuclear program with military and covert action by US and the Israeli's with some added diplomacy has more or less been successful over the past few decades and did not cause the same reaction from them as taking out their political and religious leadership.

Trump's been trying to make a deal with these assholes since before the war stated and was only forced to move on them bc of the Israeli's . Rubio's said as much during the opening days of the war. And he continues to want to make a deal with them . He isnt exterminating the IRGC.

Seeing your take on was pretty obvious that I’d be trying to make a point with a fool. How does that work exactly? Either way I come out of it with trying to make sense with either someone that refuses intentionally to understand or someone that cannot make rational sense.

MAGA cant pretend they are rational when it comes to the SOH. That ship has sailed—no pun intended.

Here's a hint...how about INTERNATIONAL SUPPORTED SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN for attacking non-combatants. The UN (and the Democrats in America) only seem to want to blame Trump. The Iranians are still attacking non-coms.
