Given this is just a general view coming from my little section of rural Louisiana, but I can attest to knowing several, albeit older, farmer, rancher, blue collar types as well as a few bankers, lawyers, and medical professionals who are conservative as can be by nature but will vote straight D on everything from President down to town council and school board just because they always have and that’s how their dad and granddad always voted. I’m sure you’ll find that in other areas throughout the South too. Pretty crazy when you think about it.

Medicine is pretty centrist.
Female docs are more liberal. Men are more conservative.
Primary care/lesser paid specialties are more liberal.
Higher paying/more competitive specialties are more conservatives.
They’ve published stats on it.

Most liberals I know are ideological LIBERALS that can’t face the fact that their party has turned into psycho progressive marxists. They’re good hearted and believe they’re doing the right thing. Likewise they think every conservative hates minorities, gays, the poor, etc and only care for big business. In short, they’re more southern democrat than anything battling the Rockefeller republicans. Dated concepts IMO.
The identity politics movement is pushing them away as it gets more radical. Vile shite like the comedian at the correspondents dinners and your typical sky screamer also bother them. The old school southern liberals are being alienated by the Dem party just as much as libertarian conservatives are by the Rep party.
An opportunity for these to factions to unite is emerging.

Most working class workers agree with conservative politics when they know all of the facts . We are all want free stuff some people don’t have enough common sense to know that the free staff is coming out of their check .
