I suspect Trump will be told who to pick and milquetoast Turtle wants more moderate to save the riots and please DIFi. They could nominate a Saint and they will be attacked.

I don’t understand your point. They were supposedly picked because they were the best nominees and not because of their race and color. They would be excluded now because Trump is excluding those candidates. Republicans always complain how Dems make everything about race but now they’re doing the exact same and promising to exclude a certain set of people.

I totally disagree. The Dems would look very bad attacking Hispanic woman which would be the first Cuban American on the court. The fence Republicans (which in includes 2 women) would be more inclined to go along not wanting to look appear racist. With a short window the best pick might not be the right pick. Kavenaugh and Gourch probably weren’t the best possible pick, William Pryor from Alabama comes to mind. Trump probably figured Pryor would have a lot harder road to confirmation.
