Calling the NHL racist can deter people of color from watching hockey. When people of color don't watch a sport, their children are less likely to play that sport. In turn, the diversity problem gets worse, not better.

Pro athletes start out as children playing a sport. It doesn’t snow and ice over in the south or out in California so kids do not play hockey here. That has nothing to do with race and more about geography. I’m probably the only dickhead in the south that watches hockey lol.

there’s too much money at stake in pro sports for their to be any racism. the best players play, period. it’s 100% merit based on athletic performance and skill
