CO wants kids that identify as opposite sex to shower & sleep with them at Christian camp?

The Colorado Department of Early Childhood recently updated its regulations for licensed resident summer camps to force camps to allow children to access bathing, dressing, and sleeping facilities of the opposite sex, meaning if a young boy says he’s a girl, camps are forced to place him with girls (and vice versa).
Camp IdRaHaJe in Bailey has served children since 1948.
A Christian summer camp, it derives its name from the classic hymn “I’d Rather Have Jesus” and exists to present the truth of the gospel to the thousands of kids who attend every summer. Camp IdRaHaJe serves children of all beliefs and all backgrounds, but each family knows that the camp houses children only according to their biological sex.
When the camp learned about Colorado’s new policy, it applied for an exemption multiple times — but it was denied each time.
With summer upon us, the camp is in an impossible situation between adhering to its religious beliefs and compromising the safety and privacy of the approximately 2,600 kids who will attend over the summer.
...
The state has laws that prevent licensed counselors from speaking with children about underlying issues that could cause gender dysphoria, a condition that is often resolved as children are allowed to develop naturally through puberty (rather, the state forces counselors to promote its extreme ideology). The state also forces kids to share intimate spaces with members of the opposite sex on overnight school trips, often without parents’ knowledge.
...
The department issuing the licenses annually inspects camps, and any reported violation of a regulation could shut the camp down. Since the camp cannot allow children to access spaces of the opposite sex in good conscience, it retained the services of Alliance Defending Freedom (where I serve as legal counsel) to sue the state so that it can retain its license and safe policies that respect human dignity.

Next they'll want to allow the camp counselors to be allowed to sleep with the kids. You know, to "monitor" them.

I’m willing to bet none of the lawmakers’ kids will ever be subject to such things.

Spotted the problem right there.
This camp relaxed it's standards and introduced diversity.
They should make it exclusively Christian/hetero.

Muh "separation of church and state"?
Funny how the separationists aren't going to show up to argue against the state on this one.

I worked for a YMCA summer camp while I was in college. It was only a day camp though, no sleepovers.

Where are the residents attorneys that love to argue this stuff?

This is pretty common. At the Christian camp I worked over two summers while at LSU, we slept in a loft that overlooked the kids. In other cabins, the counselors slept in an adjacent room to the campers.
It’s still like that today.

He meant sleep with as in shared bed.
It was sarcasm. Mostly.

Who is going to define what a "Christian" is? If you simply say you're a Christian is that enough? All faiths have the nominal followers who are "in name only" and not especially devote so I don't mean to single out just Christianity but I don't see this as workable. A piety rating just isn't going to fly.

Crazy how hard and fast Colorado went to shite

From a logistical perspective, it would certainly be "easier" to just deny any kids who don't fit into the Christian Hetero group. From a gospel perspective though, we're supposed to be willing to reach out to those who are not walking with Christ as a means to introduce him to what the gospel has to offer. I know lots of grown adults that I attend church with today who are great leaders and are incredibly bought in to their faith that found Christ during a summer camp when they absolutely were not Christians. Some of them were only at camp because their parents made them go.
TL;DR I blame the pedo democrats in Colorado more than I blame the camp for trying to reach lost people.

This is full on institutionalized grooming.

We don't call them Groomers for nothing.
I would love to see how Progressives and Colorado respond when Muslims refuse to follow these orders.
PS - I already know what will happen.

Lefties are like locusts. They leave their crappy states that their ideology has ruined and the horde moves on to a new place and proceeds to destroy it too. That's basically what happened to Colorado.

I agree. I'm not seeing the camp as a recruiting event.
I see it as an indoctrination/reinforcement of common thinking for the fortification and defense of the group.
Recruiting can happen at another venue.

First of all, they need to get a lawyer. Then get that lawyer to figure out how to move the camp to a more stringent neighboring state (Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska or Wyoming).
Either that or shut the camp down. You had a good run but you're in Colorado. If there's no way out of this, I'd shut it down and let it be somebody else's headache.

That’s what the radical left wants though.
