it was just a small part of the goofy rigmarole procedure they use to vote in a SCOTUS nominee

LINK

Murk & Collins seems like the 2 NO votes for the entire ACB rigmarole.

Someone needs to explain to Schumer that he's not Majority Leader. He's nothing more than annoyance.

Democrats threw a fit over the Monday vote on Barret. Demanded a closed door session. Simply turn off the cameras and actually close the doors.

Republicans told them to shut the hell up and they could take the Dems in three out of four falls. Voted to reopen

They actually take a vote to reopen .....

Opened the doors with a few black eyes on clear display on the left side of the aisle.

Funny you should mention this. The wife and I were talking a couple of days ago about all the shite going on this year. She said they should call this year Y20K. Y2K was a couple of decades late.

Who ordered the “closed doors”? Is that something anyone can do pending a vote to “reopen”? It’s sort of confusing.

Scum. How is this rushing anything? Why should appointments take a long time? Hearing were not even necessary! She was already vetted and cleared for this job years ago.

"rushing this nomination through the Senate only eight days before memorial day". Does memorial day have anything to do with the SC? No. Therefore it would be a stupid statement. You voting during a nominaion to the SC are also unrelated. Zero reason to postpone vote by senate. And actually not wanting an even number of Justices is a legit reason to actually rush the confirmation.

Confirming her destroys everything the Dems have worked for and plan for the future.

Is it just me or is everybody tired of Schumer?

Only McConnell can order a closed session. The Majority Leader controls the Agenda and the Calendar. I imagine it was an arse chewing session, in so much as that is allowed.

I still fully expect Romney to throw a wrench into the confirmation at some point. He only works from two positions, whats in it for him or how bad can I hurt Trump.

We was an outspoken critic of the Senates Biden report and he has not said one word since all this new information on Hunter Biden has surfaced two weeks ago. Romney will burn the country down before he will be pulled into the scandal himself.

Wrong.

quote:

Dec 30, 2014 — session, any Member of Congress may request a secret session without notice.

It's then seconded, then the question is asked if there are any objections. In this case the answer was no and Sen. Kennedy instructed the Sergeant-at-Arms to clear the room except for a handful of secretaries.
