Cleaning up Plastic Pollution in the Oceans

On 60 Minutes last night they reported on the problem with plastics accumulating in our oceans and the problems it's bringing to ocean life.
LINK
Through the entire story I was sitting with baited breath waiting for the massive MSM boogie man to rear it's ugly head: "Climate Change".
But to my surprise it didn't happen. No mention of climate change. CBS did not attempt to conflate ocean plastic pollution with climate change.
It was a pleasant surprise. In fact within the entire article that I linked above CBS makes no mention to climate change.
Good for this reporter Sharyn Alfonsi to stay focused on the issue at hand, removing plastics from the ocean, and not delving into climate change either through innuendo or conflating issues.

Did they mention Africa, India, or China when it comes to plastic pollution?

This is an issue I'd really like to support.
Now I'm waiting for the radical left to infiltrate the organizations cleaning up the oceans and destroy the original intent of those organizations while continuing to collect money from unwitting donors. The PETA strategy.

90% of that plastic is coming from SE Asia, collect that trash as it flows out of their rivers into the ocean, it would be cheaper.

We should be charged for the cleanup since SE Asia is pumping plastic into the oceans.
Same with the carbon taxes.
The answer should always be, “we will pollute the world, and bill America for it.”

Mentioned China a lot and talked about poor nations in general with terrible looking pictures.

It's funny but true.

It was really insane to see just how much plastic is in the stomachs of wildlife. Doesn't really matter what side of the political spectrum you're on, but I think everyone can agree this is a big issue.
Also that redhead fish and game chick

Asia and India are responsible for the super vast majority of that.

The redhead wildlife official was kind of hot but the other one was a little too beefy for my taste.

We have a kid working on the ranch who shows up every day with a dozen disposable water bottles in a Yeti ice chest. Setting aside the Yeti, this kid spends more $$$ on water in a week than I will spend all year. Blows my mind.

America is shipping much of its re-cycled plastic to SE Asia. So a lot of that plastic
Originally comes from America. That was demonstrated in the 60 Minutes story

I've been talking about this for years. The AGW cult - in demonizing CO2 (which is NOT a pollutant) has sucked all the life out of the legitimate environmental issues facing us.
A healthy ocean is vital to our species, unlike some arbitrary level of CO2 and even temperature, of which our planet can tolerate a relatively wide range.

The US Navy is also responsible considering they dump trash into the oceans.

Pollution like this is a real issue that should unite everyone. Give the CO2 shite a rest and focus on things we know will make a difference like the ocean/water pollution.

The plastic we are shipping over there is intended for recycling facilities. If the Asians are not doing that, it's on them.
Since they are paying for it, I doubt it is then being dumped.

And the Asians are not disposing of it properly. That isn't our fault or problem.
