China sees potential global depression and nuclear war but has to balance it against defeat of the west and that nice Russian oil. I seriously doubt that pulling the rug from under Russian is a far-sighted Chinese strategy but who knows. Russia is stupid for ever considering China as a 'friend'. China just befriended them so that the western media could point out that even China says to stop he invasion.
I hope I am wrong but my five year old prediction looks to have a real chance of coming true. Plan: war with us against Russia and china, with China left to rule the world after cleaning up he craps.

Judging by the number of Upchurch here, there are a great many that feel that vlad is the righteous one in the war fighting against the man.

The deal is the world's is uniting against him because people around the world want to make money and this move by vlad is hurting many people where they don't want to be hurt.
Even the wealthy Chinese don't want to burden themselves with a large country with a small economy and a now battered second rate army.
So you see him as fighting against the global elite. I see him just being a bully.
Is Ukraine crooked? Yes. Did biden and Europe frick up? Obviously.
None of this changes the fact that vlad went into Ukraine because he wants more land given to Russia permanently including Crimea.
Honestly, I'm a huge Trump fan. But putin is just a bully. He's a dictator with a large army, but just a dictator.

Unlike US, China do not use scholars to tell outsider what the gov. is thinking. You need to read China Daily or watch CCTV, the official newspaper and TV to get it.
As a big country, when the strategy is set, China does not change til the world changes.
It is no brainier for China or Turkey or other third world countries (India, Brazil, Mexico etc) to support Russia. Without Russia, US and the West will dominant the world. This will make life harder for all of the countries that are not in US camp.
