You are reading quote from these scholars in New York Times etc is because these are the people that West Media can reach inside China.
The scholars and journalists are trained in the same schools usually ivy league schools and Standford. They chat and drink beers in the weekend together.

Putin isn't quitting till he gets what he wants. If China truly wants Tiawan, they better back off that thinking. Russia has as many nukes aimed at China as he does the USA.
Putin is crazy, and not going to walk away without a victory, in seized territory. Russia can at any moment start up crap real fast in the Middle East.
I hope and pray for a cease fire, but it will only be on Putin's terms.
