I get you dont agree with what Trumps doing and are fearful of the possible outcomes, but I dont believe that you don't understand.

Its a mentality.
When you arent capable of self managing and improving your own circumstances, you beg for more government.
This is why MAGA loves Trump, he's gonna get them a raise.

Yeah, videos have been posted and statements have been made, and they are the equivalent of:
"We are engaging in this trade war to turn everything red. That's the goal. We want nothing but red."
"America will be so much more prosperous when everything in America is blue! That's what we're working for here!"
"Our early founding fathers knew that we wouldn't need income taxes if everything was green. We're going to restore that circumstance to the American people and before you know it, everything will be green!"
We just understand that everything can't be green, red, and blue at the same time. Thus, we're confused.
For some reason, ya'll do not understand that.

China once held close to 2 trillion in US Treasuries.
Now they are down to 750 billion
Now they are down to 750 billion

quote:Te problem, as the OP notes is that they are too many contradictions. At one time, the admin says”we going to fund the entire government on import tariffs” Another they claim we’re going to eliminate imports.
Its been explained over and over. Videos explaining this have been posted over and over.
If you’re a Trump fan, you knod yes to both. Both sound nice. But both can’t be true. It’s double accounting. And likely, you’re being manipulated.
As Ayn Rand said (roughly) “when you a contradiction, always know at least one is a lie.”

Given our situation, I’d be far more concerned with what people are buying from treasury than selling. (even given the relationship between them).

How exactly did Trump start this? You must be a moron level retard to say that.

Trump started this, what did he expect China to do? Say sorry? This shite is going to get ugly, and we are going to be the ones caught in the middle of all it.

Selling tbills hurts china so it's interesting

I knew as soon as I saw the 4chan post that this was likely. If somebody on 4chan can see the plan, why can’t China?
Posted on 4/8/25 at 12:32 pm to roadGator
But right now that is how they are acting. They want to see how reckless their opponent can be....or is it all an act? You could end up with US Navy as a card, meaning that Trump pulls the Navy back from Straits of Molocca and protecting China's flow of oil....and food

Teh US is so close to fiscal dominance it won't take much to push us over the edge. Not sure why we're helping them, tho

quote:Budget? I’d reckon a September CR “we had to do it!” is far more likely. In Dec they said “we’ll fight in March. In March they said “we’ll fight in September!”. I guess we’ll see.
We'll see if real progress can be made on the budget this summer. That will be the tell.
I’d put the odds of substantial, meaningful spending cuts (DoD, SS Medicare) slightly below the odds of me motorboating Sydney Sweeney.

This is absolutely 4D chess being played by Trump. All the below are in play his tariff policy.
1. Level trade playing field.
2. Force Powell to lower interest rates.
3. Lower consumer spending to stop inflation.
4. Creat us jobs
Obama said he was going to fundamentally change the United States. Well, Trump is reversing all the political economic mismanagement going back to Roosevelt.

This chaotic tariff strategy has increased the likelihood that we will have to come to the table promoting subsidies with the next spending packages.
One of the main avenues promoted by this policy is protectionism for purported national security, which isn't a tariff portrayed policy and is 100% a subsidy policy. This in addition to the negative economic consequences that were likely to suffer screams that the population will be begging the populist for subsidies and handouts
