WTF difference does it make to you? You're going to be eating the same beans and rice after everything is settled as you are before.

This was 11 months ago and no one was complaining then. Everyone here knows Chyna is the devil and Nixon opened that Pandoras box. Biden kept other tariffs in place and added these. I sure as shite didn’t see any leftard cultusts complaining about this.

I'm not sure Trump knows what he is doing overall. He's operating in a transactional manner. There's a lot of reacting going on. You move, I move, that type of play. It's tactics hoping to formulate a strategy later so long as your opponent is operating in the same manner and currently Xi is operating that way too.

He’s only said it a thousand times since 1985.

Create an even playing field that allows US to sell overseas to close the trade deficit & restore US manufacturing so we aren’t reliant on adversaries.

Trump should have been clear on exactly what he was going for with this.
He has been. The only question is how he prioritizes the various elements and what he'll accept in each instance as he negotiates.

Brother, you’re more all over the place here than I have ever seen you.

He should keep ideas close and to himself, as your napoleon picture implies, or he has been open and clear. Love you, respect you greatly, but you’re all over the place here.

If China selling $50B sent 10y rates up 30bps in 36 hours, how are we going to finance $9T in long term debt at low rates?

No.
You misunderstand. When Colin Powell was asked what our plan of attack would be against the huge amassed Iraqi army, he said, "We're gonna cut it off, and kill it. That divulged the plan, but not the details. Trump works the same way in negotiation. He always has. He's written a couple of books about it.

NC, stop making military strategy the parallel to these tariffs. Do you see no difference in them?

It's not just that. It's a bad analogy for a few reasons.

1. We're not specifically talking about strategy as much as goals. Powell communicated the goals.

2. Powell didn't have 3-5 generals going around promoting conflicting goals that cannot co-exist.

The more this charade has continued, the more I think the intent was to cause recessionary impacts so they can refi lower, which makes this thread scarier to me as I move to this goal.

China was ready to pull the trigger without blinking. This doesn’t seem like the US is dictating the terms now.

Was Bassent anticipating this maneuver?

What is next?

quote CF "This shite is going to get ugly, and we are going to be the ones caught in the middle of all it."

If possible, listen to Bannon/"WarRoom" this morning re a discussion with Peter Schiff. Bannon was speechless (unique for him to be frozen) as Schiff laid out the whole economic dynamic. His assessment was lucid, concise and impeccable. And you are right re "ugly". It's unavoidable outside of acquiescing the Constitutional Republic to Globalist "fundamental change".

NC, stop making military strategy the parallel to a trade war? Interesting request. You prefer chess and checkers?
