Just a little Friday morning fodder.

#1. Alaska - 61.7% of its citizens own guns
2. Arkansas - 57.9
8. Alabama - 48.9
11. Louisiana - 44.5
13. Mississippi - 42.8

The Alabama numbers aren't even close to accurate.

I'd imagine none of them really are if the truth be known. Say I bought two guns forty years ago. There was no "registration" back in those days, no background checks. So where do I fall into the equation?

You think a majority of people are getting a survey phone call and answering that they have guns in their house? :lulz:

Besides living in a few states, there is not currently a registration. There is no legal federal list of gun owners. When you get a background check, there is no serial numbers recorded there is only a dertermination made if you can or can not own guns and provided a proceed to sell or not. A background check can be for 1 gun or 15, the gov’t doesn’t know

I didn't see that in the article. Matter of fact, I don't see anything showing how exactly CBS got their info.

Is that per capita?

Because I am willing to bet we have more Texans who hold guns.

37.5% x 28.3 mil = 10.61 mil

Over two times the entire state of Alabama. THATS REPORTED.

Try buying more than 5 firearms in any 12-month period. You’ll at least get a phone call.

The southern numbers should at least be doubled! Most baws down here aren't going to tell some yankee survey taker about what guns they have.

I'd love to know the number of answers that involved a tragic loss of firearms in a boating accident.

Mine disappeared during a 2.7 earthquake we had here about four years ago. Just got swallowed up never to be seen again.

Every time I go on the Tombigbee, Smith Lake, Lake Guntersville, or Lake Tuscaloosa, I manage to lose all of my guns. It's the damndest thing. So I have to buy more every year

I would imagine this poll is every bit as accurate as the dozens that showed Hillary Clinton winning in a landslide right up until Nov. 8 2016

Except for when they decide to come photograph your old transfer forms. Or your shop closes and all records instantly become Gov. Property transferred to the home office.
