There is ZERO likelihood that Bernstein has any legitimate contacts left in the White House at this stage. Perhaps, maybe at the beginning of this administration a few years ago. But any WH officials "leaking" to Bernstein at this juncture are unknowingly useful idiots allowed to remain on the landscaping crew and spill the beans inbetween leafblower breaks

Bernstein’s been a has been for decades and the one real feather in his cap had been knowing who Deep Throat was. And he blew that because his kid told someone at summer camp one year and that person published it. It got overlooked due to a combination of an unlikely person publicizing it and it not being a “sexy” name like an Al Haig who was relevant in politics afterward.

its funny how two no name city desk reporters, working for the newspaper that is the known "mouthpiece" of the FBI, get the story of the decade, get the Associate Director of the FBI providing them inside info and have every investigative door opened to them in pursuit of the "story"
