Woke (adj): Being alert to invisible injustices perpetrated against disempowered classes of people.

"Disempowered" people implied by genetic characteristics such as race, gender, and sexual orientation.

It is a modern adaptation of Marxist principles with an oppressor/oppressed narrative in which to view society. The difference being not just economic class oppression, it implies there is oppression by race/gender regardless of economic status. It reduces people down to their genetic stock they are born with.

So, were you born oppressed or an oppressor? If the latter, you must stay "woke" to repent.

Woke: the suddenly discovered thought that I am so fricked up, I need acceptance and support to make me feel not so fricked up…..and I am so jealous of normal people, I can’t stand it.

Alternate: a view of society that allows one to blame every issue on those who are not like me….a truly irresponsible way of life.

Liberals will tell you that "Woke" is the state of being aware of racial and social injustices and challenge those injustices. I think we all agree that by that definition, woke isn't such a bad thing.

However, there is a second definition of "Woke" where you have to be proactive and challenge anyone who belongs to the same race or social class as those that may have committed the injustices that got us woke in the first place. In other words, you don't have to commit an offense to be guilty, you just have to be of the same race or identity group as the people who traditionally commit racial injustices.

Any time there is a conflict between two different classes in society, the class that has historically been lower in the societal hierarchy is automatically given the benefit of the doubt, regardless of the circumstances or evidence in the incident.

This makes it easy for someone like President Biden to say that White Supremacy is the biggest issue we face in America today without actually having any incidents of racism to back it up. All we need is a lot of rich white people.

People who reject the very idea of definitions now want us to define them. Don’t fall for it.

If it requires interpretation and ignores facts, its "Woke."

Woke is having an uneducated opinion based solely on what someone wants to believe to support their claim of being a victim of life.

Ebonics for "red-pilled."

Two groups just have a different notion about the nature of the "real world" that people "should" be seeing.

Found this on a google search:
quote:

The term “red pill” means “my opinion is correct” and is most commonly used by rightists.

The term “woke” means “my opinion is correct” and is most commonly used by leftists.

Not all rightists use the term “red pill” and not all leftists use the term “woke”, though - just the insufferable ones who refuse to accept other views.

Meme is not remotely accurate, but it IS funny.

The tactics are similar, but neither the policies nor the ideologies are even close.

Woke people are people who follow the herd without a scintilla of logical reasoning or facts.

The philosophy of wokeism is basically a modern form of communism: rich people are evil, all poor people are poor because they are oppressed, all white people are evil, most of the world is gay or trans, successful people must have cheated or oppressed others to get to the top. White people are the ultimate oppressors and everything about Western Civ is evil, bad and destructive.

It's just 19th century Marxism. Same old shite except they put more emphasis on social issues like race and gay stuff.

asking you to define a word you use isn't a gotcha unless you really don't know.
a gotcha is catching someone.

being woke is being most aware on all levels, including very importantly the heart.
compassion.
the democratic party has been called the mommy party. and republicans are daddy and proud of it.

the bleeding heart of Mother Mary is the archetype of woke from the point of view of democrats.
love in action.
Nancy Pelosi took this on as her alignment of her power. big city catholic politico.
that's what they know.
she also put money into restoration of sf bay wetlands. her district is on the bay. mother nature.
daddy is about money.
