How long have you been mad at the itemization of the taxes you pay for food?

Considering its literally the only business cost they are itemizing on the bill (other than sales tax I suppose), its about as petty as you can get.

It IS informative, it's explicitly notifying regulars of the source of the recent price increase they may have noticed. Owner's motivations can be whatever they may be, but it's useful info to have- the business's best estimate of the effect of that policy on costs.

Meh, I understand the point, but they should just raise the food cost. If everyone in the area around him has to pay for the new stupid min wage increase, people will realize what is going.

People are very stupid when this talk of min. wage increase comes up. It seems money really does grow on trees and fall out the sky.

More companies should do this.....after all the dumb bank regulation instead of just bending over the customers they should have put notices up, mailed letters out explaining the reason the customer is getting screwed is due to the regulations the politicians are putting on them.

If folks are dumb enough to vote these morons in, they should see in black and white the consequences of their actions.

I also hate the term living wage.....if you're making $8/hr rying to raise a family...shame on you....get another job or work two.

It's a 35 cent flat surcharge on every bill (1 hamburger same as 20), so I don't see how it relates to the minimum wage. Plus this is only because they have to pay 12 tipped hourly employees a higher wage... so it is not so much about the "minimum wage", per se.

Nothing more than a separate line item for inflation due to minimum wage increases which are increases based on COLA's which are based on inflation.

You are full of crap. You get propaganda with your meals frequently. Any time there is a description of the food items on the menu or photos of menu items the information is designed to give you a favorable impression of those items. Do you think all those descriptions and photos are realistic?

I wonder how long the state and local governments are going to tolerate the $.35 of sale being excluded from sales tax?

Boohoo libs.

I know it sucks when you find out that your feel good laws that supposedly help people actually requires you to pay for it with your own money instead of taking it away from other people like y'all love to do.

frick fiscal liberalism.

The living wage argument attracts colossal morons. I can't believe that many people slept through basic economics.

The way they react to a $0.35 charge leads me to believe that they'd flip their shite if every employer was forced to pay low level employees drastically higher wages. There's very little thought going into the consequences of their demands.

He can afford it. I don't think he even has an issue paying it. He just doesn't want to confront the issue every time he pays a bill because he would have to admit that money doesn't come from nowhere.

Yeah, I know. I was being facetious. Truth is, increased costs of business will cause prices to rise, but some ideological lightweights who's only life experience is in a classroom have been brainwashed to believe that costs will not rise and evil corporations/companies will not make as much profit.
I guess they want to hide their head in the sand instead of realizing that increased cost is passed on to the consumer.
