Those “fishermen” have helped contribute to the deaths of more Americans including children than AQ, Saddam Hussein and the NVA combined.
I think we need to deal with other facets of the equation as well, but they’ve been declared as terror related groups and if they continue to push products that will destroy Americans whatever occurs as they attempt to continue doing that is on them.

Genuine question: why not hit them there...in port...or at their destination?
If they are an imminent threat to the United States in international waters, aren't they a threat in port? I don't think the strikes are illegal, but I would like to see an explanation.

The most insane part of this to me is the left, once again being opposed to an 80/20 issue because orange man bad.
They’d be much more successful recognizing the vast majority of Americans aren’t on the drug cartel’s side and working with Trump on this.
They could then say “see where reasonable on issues that he is reasonable on”.

That could be seen as an act of war against Venezuela and a violation of sovereign waters and airspace. The target is cartels, many Colombian smuggling through Venezuelan ports. That’s why you hit them in international waters. Also, as the other poster noted, it’s safer.

The legal argument is that this is war, though. When we killed Houthi leaders in their homes along with innocent civilians, the civilians were considered just to be justifiable collateral damage.
This is why I think publishing the legal memo that justifies the bombings is necessary.
