Why pay attention to these small potatoes when you could be following market savant, Nancy Pelosi

Imagine the layoffs, and then the bankruptcies, ordinary people have so much debt.
How would the US economy handle a few million low wage workers being deported? Would it cause an economic downturn?

You sell now at a huge gain. Wait for the crash and buy it all at a discount.
The rich only get richer as the poor folks say.

Bezos is probably required to sell a certain amount of stocks and predetermined dates
Not sure that is much to go on
11 billion for him is a rounding error now

It’s a vicious circle from
Banking REG’s. Deposits are liabilities and loans out are assets.
You put $10 in the bank and the bank gets a liability of $10 on their balance sheet. If they loan that $10 out they now have neutralized that liability created by your deposit.
Yes I know they can’t loan the full $10 because of reserve requirements for the bankers reading this.

FOUNDER JEFF BEZOS SOLD ANOTHER $1.23 BILLION OF AMAZON SHARES WHICH BRINGS HIS 2024 TOTAL SELLS TO OVER $11 BILLION
OMG ! . OMG ! .... the sky is falling ... it's falling ...
$11Bn is 5% of Bezos's wealth. For Jeff, it's play money.

So....MMT isn't really a viable monetary policy? Who would have thunk?

So what does a poor feller with a retirement account supposed to do to make it safer?

In terms of real estate I don't believe it's mortgages that will take a nosedive this time, it commercial real estate loans.
I can't see a scenario where commercial real estate isn't fricked
Which is why I think you're seeing all of the return to office moves by big corps

I don't know, I'm just not qualified to answer that
The illegals are incredibly expensive though. The labor may be cheap for the companies that hire them, but they consume a large amount of government spending. Hispanics consume 7k in government aid per capita, whereas White Americans contribute around 2.8k, we put in more than we consume.
This is a general phenomena though. You see the same thing with the migrant population in Europe.

Stockpiling cash to buy in when the trends skyrocket. Smart.

They are doing it in mortgages as well. Giving interest free clemency periods of no payment, no penalty or interest.

quote:Yep. I've got better than a half-million in home equity at the moment, and I keep getting bank offers to refinance (I'm at 3.65% so no thanks) or an equity loan (second mortgage. No thanks). I don't need additional debt. My wife and I will fund our home improvements out of pocket and at a pace we want to spend at.
Why do banks keep financing mortgages that people cannot afford? Makes no sense now and they should have learned from 2008. Last house I bought the realtor kept telling me I could afford more and would have better houses to look at. I told her no, the houses in my range were just fine.

You mean since the Democrats made it clear they were going to get trounced on account of trying to destroy the nation? The lead times on these moves is pretty long.
