They are famous for their levels of desperation in wanting a snack. It goes like this:

1. Dad, I want a treat.
2. Really, Dad, I haven't eaten in hours.
3. I'm starting to feel weak. Must have some food.
4. I'm just going to lie down here and starve now.
5. It's been nice knowing you, Dad. Tell mom I love her, too. Goodbye.

So, you give the dog a treat. He gobbles it up and 30 seconds later he starts again:

1. Dad, I want another treat.

He says my fellow retrievers. I am quibbling on purpose

Should be trying to buy something not gay.
