Let the Impeachment Process play out so they can call witnesses. It is the only way to truly show Trump's innocence to the public and that the entire episode was a political hit job.

McConnell wants to dismiss the impeachment sham as soon as they send it over to the Senate. Trump wants the whole impeachment trial, he wants scalps.

If they want people to take it seriously, they have to put forth articles of an actual crime.

I think that a whistleblower probably overheard the conversation. Clearly a quid pro quo was enunciated. "Mr. McConnell, I'm authorized by President Donald John Trump to tell you that if you dismiss these charges, then Trump will offer your wife 4 more years as Secretary of Transportation. Unless she wants to change. She can be whatever she wants." He's already conferring with Adam Schiff to draft a complaint.

At which time, it will be plain as day to even the most obtuse voters in our society what they’re doing.
They’ve managed to take a brash, borderline unlikable New York billionaire and turn him into a sympathetic character. A victim. All because he’s doing his job. And they don’t like him personally.

This. Not giving Trump a chance to rebuke the accusations will give Dems a chance to set the “trump broke the law but republicans are protecting him” narrative
